Crazy Things Boomer Kids Did in the Past

Back in the later 60's when I was a teen, I would spend quite a bit of time at my friends house and especially up in there bedroom playing records and dancing and smoking cigarettes and blowing the smoke out the bedroom window like we were actually getting away with something. Thinking back on it we thought we were getting away with it, but I am pretty sure all our parents knew we smoked. Pretty much everyone was doing it so they really didn't say anything.
I hid my packs up over the dining room table in the glass light cover .....
My sister was mad at me for something I think she wanted attention for being so good. I was 13 and she two years younger Kathy ....she pointed to it for our step-father to see...... can't remember if I
...OK. he took them .....for himself.

I think if my mom caught me when I was a teen she would have took them from me and did the same thing your dad did and smoked them herself. I doubt she would have yelled at me. She knows if she would have gotten them from me I would have just gotten them again.

It surprises me to remember this now but around '64 when I was 7 or 8 ( my big sis was 9 or 10), our Granddaddy would take us to downtown Memphis and let us out in front of Loew's Palace Theater on Saturday afternoons. We'd pay with a few coins, go in and watch a Woody Woodpecker cartoon and a Disney feature like Big Red or Mary Poppins. After the movie we'd walk two blocks over to Bond's department store and wait for Granny to get off work. Granny would treat us to ice cream and an Archie or Casper comic book then Granddaddy would pick us all up out in front of Bond's around 6 o'clock in the evening.
Gotta say it's a bit sad that today's youngsters can't have the same carefree, innocent experiences we had.

One of the many things that come to mind was a boy who liked putting the girl he liked on his bike with him and going to a place called suicide hill. The girls would stand on the bottom of the hill and the first boy that made it down the hill would make out with the girl he took there. I found out years later the boy's would choose who came down the hill first. All the time I just believed my boyfriend probably was the fastest because he always won.

Loved Chinese junprope matter of fact I bought one out of the blue for the soul purpose of showing a grand daughter how to enjoy it.
Only one problem all my grand daughters estranged are in relationships, married with young babies and toddlers and all grown-up.
The younger of my daughters is either unable to have children, unknown to her the risks she may carry. Or dead against children and marriage as none are married due to life rude awakenings. Might be the WHYS that word estrange seems to be... OK Life changes and the poor my feel the outcome more negatively such a shame to experience when forgiveness if any were into God...my have made a pure effort to open their hearts.
I know. I know this is for days gone bye.
