Room 101, and things you would like to discard into it ...

There used to be a semi light-hearted chat show on Radio & TV called Room 101. The Premise of the show was that Celebrities would choose things that annoyed them in real life, discuss them, and then convince the host they were so bad that they had to be consigned to Room 101... the host would play devils advocate and not always agree to throw them into the room of tortures ( room 101 was originally named after the torture room in the book Nineteen Eighty Four by George Orwell)...

Anyway.. I thought it would be a nice idea for the forum to have you all choose your pet hates, and why you dislike them.. and have this thread as a virtual Room 101.. no host to disagree with your choices, but feel free to discuss your pet hates and whether you agree...


I'll start by saying , I would like to consign to room 101...

List as many as you want, be they serious or light-hearted , but not all on one post... please..

Pedants.. ...they drive me insane. It's not necessary to explain in every tiny iota, nor is it necessary to take apart everything I say just to be boring as Heck, ... so I'm consigning Pedants and pedantry into room 101... (y)

Next please..:D
 

People who waste my time.. or who have no respect for my time. How rude.
I freely admit I'm almost pedantic about time ( having said that earlier about disliking pedants).. so I'm never late for anyone, or anything.. , but unless there's a really good reason, people keeping me waiting gets my blood boiling.

Example.. and I have to insert a rider here, I do understand when it comes to medical issues, that appointments can't always run on time, but when I'm paying a lot of money to a private Dentist (not NHS) I don't expect to be kept waiting well over my appointment time every single time I attend. An occasional over-wait is acceptable because a patient has needed more work than anticipated or there's been an emergency but every single time to be kept waiting up to an hour after my due time, is completely unacceptable...

Into room 101 with people who think their time is more important than yours in any capacity

People, including many seniors, that don't pay attention while driving belong in 101.

It's warming up in my neck of the woods and motorcyclist are getting their bikes back out on the road. I have had numerous friends badly injured and killed. I've personally experienced the death of a friend while riding in a group with her. 10 minutes earlier we were talking about what a nice day it was.

I can't tell you the number of times the bullet barely missed me.

Watch for motorcycles!!!
 
I couldn't consign anyone to torture 101 style except those who would have consigned me there had the pendulum not swung in the other direction.
 
@hollydolly I'm a big soaker of whites from way back. I like to soak my white curtains and my hubby's dingy underwear and socks. The darn washer won't stay full. As it washes it sends little spirts of water throughout the cycle but never fills. Suppose to be more efficient. I admit it does wash but my soaking habits are hard to break, Its a Maytag like my last one.

The dryer is ok except it constantly beeps to tell me to clean the filter which I do every time.

The stove is the worst. It is a GE and they advertised the fact that it would never boil over. That was no lie because as soon as it comes to a boil it drops back to a simmer. If you need a full rolling boil its not going to happen on this stove.

Yes I agree ! People who have a victim mentality, forever sitting on the pity pot, away you go to Room 101
