Anyone here your BFFL?

Are you referring to "here on the forum"? If so, there are several people who I think I would really enjoy meeting in person. Many years ago, I was involved with a discussion group with people all over the country. I ended up meeting several of them in person and am still in touch with some; one I consider a very dear friend and we try to get together at least every couple of years.

well clearly I don't consider anyone on here as 'my best friend for life' but certainly there are a few I'd love to meet in real life who have gone through life in a similar way as me and I feel we understand each other very well...or others who have such a great sense of humour that it would be fun to meet...or some who are just really sweet natured...

I'm with Hollydolly, I wouldn't consider anyone here as my best friend for life, but I do have a few folks here that I consider friends and am fond of, sweet natured for sure! :)

There are several here I'd like to meet in person.

I've met people through forums before and we are still friends. Some were an American expat forum, the other was Eons, a baby boomer forum now defunct.

Why Best Friend For Life instead of Best Friend Forever? My granddaughter changes BFFs more often than I change socks. Makes forever pretty meaningless doesn't it.

There are people on this forum I'd sure like to meet. Especially one who I've know for several years on another forum..

I am inclined to let friendships on the Net... stay on the Net. I had a VERY bad experience with a crossover from internet friendship to real life.. having to do with trusting someone and letting them have access to my personal details, which almost destroyed my family.. in fact, it did for a short time. not gonna happen again... even though I am hopeful that everyone here is a fine person and would be fun to meet.. BUT after that.. I am very cautious who I let in my personal circle.

Good thinking. Internet friends are best left on the internet and NO you can't have my Social Security number!!!.

Well, I think I count for all three of those reasons Holly! We will leave the BFFL things for the young girls[6-15] but of course there are people on all forums that sometimes I think it would be nice to meet up with in real life, if they live reasonably near.

OM Gosh Jim...what a lovely thing to say...how very kind of you sir, I don't ever think I've had a compliment quite like it. I'm quite taken aback... The photo is almost 2 years old .:D
