How big is your local shopping centre?

Nothing similar locally - I have to go to Aberdeen for the big shopping centres. The two main ones in the city centre are the Bon Accord centre which is 3.6 acres across two buildings, and Union square (3 acres) which is adjacent to the railway and bus stations. Both centres have car parking adjacent (not included in the store size). There are other larger centres away from the city centre, but most of the area is for car parking.

Note that although Aberdeen is Scotland's 3rd largest city, it has only about 230,000 residents. This is about 50% of Aberdeenshire county.

200 acres...

3 floors..and 245 stores... and a lake and a lot of parking....

Tomorrow after I leave the Exhibition if it's not raining I'll take the tube to Westfield shopping centre London .. only a few minutes on the underground from the Olympia centre... it's pretty huge so to save me wasting my phone battery if I go tomorrow.. I'll let you look at this video which was taken last month....Taken at the weekend so tomorrow shouldn't be anywhere nearly as busy...

Since we live in a rural area, there are no big malls nearby. However, in recent years, I've noticed; that the "medium" sized malls in the State are closing more and more stores. This is probably due to the increase in Online shopping, and the large "overhead" costs associated with maintaining such places.
As for Huge malls, we have visited the Mall of America (worlds largest) in Minnesota, and the West Edmonton Mall in Canada. They are almost tourist attractions, rather than just places to shop.

We are a small town, and the mall is also small. We used to have 2 small malls, but the one died. I guess when the dead mall sold a few years ago, we thought maybe it would revive, no such luck. The mall is still here, a block from us, but I guess the owners are using it for a tax shelter.

The shopping mall I posted above is not near me, I live in a rural area there are no malls in my town, and in the next 2 closest towns there are a couple of tiny malls with about 20 stores that's all.. I need to drive 40 mins to get to the one I posted above on 200 acres... which is on an open site.

Tomorrow I'll be going into London city centre to an Exhibition, so I'll go the biggest Mall in London while I'm there, which is in West London... ( I live on the rural borders of North London)...

The London shopping mall tomorrow .(Westfield centre) is 2.6 million square feet which is approx 60 acres...

We've got so many malls in Toronto, both large and small. In general, I try not to shop at malls if I can help it. I don't like crowds.

Yorkdale Mall, which has been around for decades, has around 250 shops. A mall (Square One), where my sister lives (Mississauga), has around 360 shops.

I don't know how I survived the Ala Moana Mall. With 290 stores and 80 ways to dine in 2 million square feet, Ala Moana Center is your most comprehensive shopping experience in Honolulu – and the world's largest open-air mall.
I bet they don't have much of a snow removal budget, do they ? Grin...I live in Canada so such things come to mind quickly. JimB.
