US Citizenship Practice Test

Well I did a tiny bit better than the first time.. got 2 wrong this time, but my score was

You answered 90% of the questions correctly.

so , not bad for a Brit whose never even stepped inside the Americas...

The 2 answers I got wrong were.. Name one right only for US citizens.. (and I answered freedom of Speech.. that was wrong.. answer was ''Run for federal office''..

and the second wrong one was ... ''Name one power of the federal govt'' ..I answered ..right to Education.. ..the correct answer was ''to declare war''.. ( that one really surprised me )..

That's pretty amazing for a Brit, getting all that correct about a foreign government.

Ok, Holly. I am going to try to find a quiz on British government.

If I get more than 40% correct, I will be shocked.

Second try:

You answered 100% of the questions correctly.

However I question some of the questions.

One example was the question about what the Emancipation Proclamation did, the answer they wanted was that it freed slaves in most southern states.

That is not true, the Emancipation Proclamation only freed slaves "within any State or designated part of a State, the people whereof shall then be in rebellion against the United States". In other words nowhere at the time it was issued, it took the later constitutional amendments to legally free all slaves.

I only got it "right" because the actual correct answer was not a choice.
