What Talent Do Wish You Had

Is there a talent that you've wished you had that you never got to develop or learn? I wish I had learned to play a musical instrument - maybe the violin, but I never got music lessons as a child.

Wish I could have more talent as a drummer and been able to be a real ROCK STAR!!

I wish that I could have become a Top of the Charts recording artist. Truth: I couldn't sing if my life depended on it.

I can sing pretty well, but not as well as a Broadway star... Which of course is what I've always secretly wished I could be... but now I quess it's not a secret any longer.

I had talent at one time, but, it was accompanied by extreme stage fright, was in a garage band, was asked to front a couple of groups, but, when it came down to it, pure panic would take over. That's ok, never really wanted that sort of notoriety in life anyway, but, always loved to sing and dance for friends at home and not beyond. Singing is off the table as of 1998 when I for some reason lost my voice, literally couldn't talk and when my speaking voice returned a week or so later, my singing voice was gone and I never went to the doctor to find out why, was just glad to be able to talk again. Some people would have been happy if I remained voiceless altogether though. LOL.

Now as far as instruments I tried learning to play the guitar several times, even paid for lessons, didn't like what it was doing to my nails, but, even if I didn't care how it was ruining my nails, I really sucked at it, something in my brain, just said no.

What I would love to learn if ever the chance arises again is to play the piano, that is something I've always wanted to learn to play but, I don't know, I just haven't pursued it all the way through, though I've looked into finding a place to get lessons.

I really gave it my all, at least in the beginning, I just wasn't any good at it and I realized I was throwing good money away for nothing. I did better with the lessons I followed from a video, but still wasn't a success. I recall piano being a better match for me when I was a young girl. I even have dreams about the piano, so will give that a try sometime this year.

Jim, that is awful and must have hurt very much. I tried to learn the guitar but it isn't as easy as it looks and my finger tips would get pretty sore. :)

When someone says to me, ''tell me honestly, what do you think..etc..''...I wish I had the talent to just Zip it... and instead smile sweetly and tell them what they really want to hear which is usually a lie...but I can't a lot of the time , so if ever Tact becomes a talent I'm signing up for the classes :lofl:

Same as Holly!:eek:nthego:

That was my first thought, but, then, that no talent part of what I was wishing for got the better part of me and I just ignored the first thought. Sigh. Still working on it though. Some days I manage, some days I need to be gagged.

Actually, my real thought at first was, I wish I had the talent to completely ignore stupid. :D

Cookie, I've had accidents before but that was the most God awful pain I ever felt. The surgeon told me why. All those nerve endings in the fingers. I cut off most of my three middle fingers and some of my thumb and a tip of my small finger. He immediately gave me a shot in the armpit to cut off nerve pain to my arm and then it was bearable. I get along fine, can do most things but picking up small objects with that hand is almost impossible. Advice, don't cut off fingers. *lol*

Gawd I missed your post Jim....Yikes...jeeezo!!!!!!!!....Ouch!! Ouch!! Ouch!! :eek:mg: My granddad cut off 2 of his fingers in an accident but he never would tell us how it happened..

We always had a grand piano in the house when I was growing up, so I played it all the time. Even played boogie woogie for my friends.
When I bought this house I bought a smaller console piano and could entertain myself for hours....even if no one was within earshot. LOL

I'm getting too old to even think about a different talent.

My cousin was a political comedian in Washington, D.C.. He entertained the pols at the Shoreham Hotel for many years.

He played the piano STANDING UP ! LOL

Falcon have you made any Youtube videos of you playing the Piano, so you could entertain us all on here.. :D I love to hear the piano played well

Sorry Hollydolly, I haven't. In fact, I don't even have the piano anymore; gave it to my daughter. Now I spend my time here on the forum, reading, doing crossword puzzles
and meeting my friends @ my club. (I'm an Elk.)
