I think it is a No Reply. I thought I should let my bank know tomorrow. By the time my mail was delivered today, the bank had closed.Could you reply to the email or was it a no-reply?
If sensitive information was in that mailing, please notify your bank.
The Post Office here has a service they call "Informed Delivery". They scan the mail that you will be receiving that day or soon after to let you know what to expect. I received an email showing that I would be getting a statement from my bank showing my accounts, etc. but I didn't get it.I don't know what you mean ?
oh we don't have that here... is that for snail mail, and is it because you have mailboxes outside of your homes ?The Post Office here has a service they call "Informed Delivery". yes great idea...Yes it is snail mail and I don't know why but I like it!
It usually is a picture of the actual mail though sometimes it will say they don't have a picture of it. It includes junk mail too. Everything.Questions for folks who have informed delivery:
Do you receive an email that just lists the sender or do you receive an actual picture of the piece of mail?
Is it only for first class and parcels, I'm assuming they don't mention bulk (junk) mail?
wow !! 45 minute trip to get your mail ?We have a post office box. It's a 45 minute round trip from our home to that small post office so we find informed delivery to be extremely useful. It isn't 100%, but it's pretty darned good.
The mail isn't scanned at our local post office but rather at the main sorting hub so there's still room for errors to occur. Most commonly, those errors involve a letter that was mis-sorted (not addressed to us) prior to scanning, and then someone catches the error prior to it being delivered.
I'm going to call them as soon as they open. The email I received was from Informed Delivery. It had the pictures of the 2 pieces of mail from my bank that I was to receive and I received one of them but not the other. Please call your bank asap, as there is a scam about that subject.

Sorry still newbie poster. I have used this service and have friend that uses it. We both never had mail they did not deliver on emailed day. I would check into it.I used to get this and I liked
I agree. In the US, the Post Office service can vary greatly. I've had letters mailed at 8 AM, and be in my mailbox by 2PM. And it took 3 months to get a package. I still have packages that are "IN TRANSIT" from the 90s.I quit Informed Delivery. I signed up for it while we were still traveling around the country, but the service proved to be very spotty. Some things would show up on the report but when the relative who picked up our mail from the box would call to tell us what had come, there would be items that hadn't been on the report.
It just wasn't worth bothering with.
This is why I like online banking. No waiting for anything...I can check my accounts anytime I want. Also if any fraudulent activity occurred or a mistake, it can be caught immediately rather than waiting...say ...a month to get a statement. I've discontinued paper statements for everything. Another reason is just what you stated...I don't want to receive information, especially of a financial nature in my box. Too many mail delivery mistakes are made around here. I often get mail for my neighbors and even for people who don't live anywhere near our street. Several years ago I got what I knew was a check for a man in a completely different town. Nothing about our names or addresses were similar.I just went back and read the email I received yesterday. It says to give them a week before we report mail we don't receive as missing. I'm not going to wait a week for banking information.
