Hi, Everyone! :)

I'm Ruby. I've poke around the forum for a couple of days and it looks like a good place to meet nice people. So I joined! I live on the East Coast, USA. I'm in my 60's. I'm widowed and retired. I find myself not only missing my wonderful husband but many relatives and friends who have also gone to The Great Beyond.

Although I'm quite able, being stuck in this never ending pandemic has put a real hitch in my giddy-up and these days I don't venture out as much as I'd like to. I have various interests ... art 🎨, film 📽️, organic gardening 🍅, the Caribbean 🏝️, aromatherapy , cooking 🍲and eating🍴, lol. I'm just looking for a little fun and interesting conversation with like minded people. I think I'll be able to find it here!

very sorry for your loss. Hope you have a nice time here. I know there are threads about recipes. I think Pam just posted a very nice recipe for Rosemary Bread. There are a couple of threads about art, one about what movies people are watching.

My wife and I are binge watching some Netflix now...

Anyway, welcome and best wishes.

Hi, Jon! :) Thanks for the welcome and your condolences. It's been four years since I lost my sweetie. Time marches on but his spirit will always live in my heart. 💘
 
Evidently I'm having a little trouble with double posting, lol. How the heck do I delete it!

As far as I know a post can't be deleted, but you can edit the post and change it to say something else.

The signature (see, here's an edit) :) shows up in your control panel after a certain number of days and postings.

Hey, John! :) Thanks for coming to the rescue. I'll do that. While you're here can you please tell me how to get a signature (quote) at the bottom of my posts? I checked my control panel but didn't see how/where to do it. Of course, that doesn't mean it's not there!

Hi Ruby, welcome glad you found us, sorry for the loss of your hubby&other relatives
SF is a unique forum because the members come from around the world,get a different perspective on things. A great place to hang out every day,you'll meet new online friends along the way
At my apt complex, I'm a member of the 'garden committee',my job is watering 17 plants/flowers in our community garden,enjoy helping out

Hi, MovieQueen! :) Thanks for the condolences. At our age it's to be expected but it's always tough losing people you love. And thanks for the welcome! It's great that you take care of the plants in your complex. Plants make everybody feel good.
