What is it that everyone likes but you don’t?

An American that hates their national drink. Praise be, I am not alone.
I hate, loathe and detest tea. Brits are weaned on tea, it looks, smell and tastes absolutely gross.

So sorry Pam, I just love coffee. But it has to be the Kenyan bean known as Peaberry.
Instant coffee is just as gross as tea and as for that liquid chicory sh*t, what's it called? Camp, yuk, yuk, yuk.
I, too, hate tea and it's such a bummer because there's nothing I like better than a tea party with beautiful china, fun friends, little cakes and delicate candies. I just have to pretend to like the liquid tin-can that comes out of the pretty teapot's spout and hope the headache doesn't hit till the party's over.

C'mon. Wine is sublime. Champagne is heavenly.
For me the alcohol ruins the taste of wine. I like what fermentation does to the taste of grape juice but the alcohol component overcomes everything so that it ends up tasting like something you'd find in a medicine cabinet. I got a bottle of wine once that was 3% alcohol and found it not too bad. Sadly I'll never be a wine conniosseur.

You're no doubt better off not drinking at all, so I'm not going to say otherwise.

Couldn't agree more, afternoon tea with scones, jam (jelly)& cream, accompanied with a pot of tea, is so quintessentially British, yet has been adopted throughout the world.

Whispers quietly, I always manage one of those coffees in a French press, the rest of the condiments are to die for.

Cell phones, hate 'em. Often if I don't immediately call back it's, "I left a message and you didn't call back!" Excuse me, is this an emergency? If it's an emergency then say so and I'll call you back as soon as I possibly can. If it isn't an emergency then STFU and have a little patience! Everything in this world is not instant! Sheesh. The last thing I want is to be at someone's beck and call at ALL times. And that's one reason why I don't give out my cell number!

Cell phones have definitely changed the way people behave. Most people I know can't be more than six inches from their cell phone and check it a hundred times a day! When I'm with people, I don't mind them checking their phones a few times. I can understand the need to feel connected but every second of everyday? Yes, if you're a doctor, EMT, are on call, have kids/grandkids that you worry about, or are expecting an important call you can't miss but other than that I find it rude when in the company of others.

Recently I was having coffee with a friend I only see once in a while and his hand was resting on his phone the entire time. It didn't ring but he kept checking it every minute. I asked him if he was expecting a call. He said no but still kept checking it. After about fifteen minutes of non-stop checking I stood up and said I had to go. He looked up from his phone and said, "You just got here!". I said, "Yeah, I thought we were going to have a conversation and catch up but you're not paying attention to me, you're with your phone." He said he was sorry. I went to sit down but before my keister could hit the seat, he was checking his phone again! I stood up and said maybe we could try this another time, if he could manage to pay attention to me instead of his phone. I haven't heard from him since, lol! I guess he thinks I'M rude, lol. That's fine with me, he can think whatever he wants to think. I've pretty much had it with people who prefer to pay attention to their cell phones rather than communicate with the people they're actually with. Frankly, I'd rather enjoy my own company than compete with an electronic device.

Thanks for letting me get that out, lol!

I'm with you 100% on the cell phone thing, Ruby. It's truly become an addiction for so many people. Your friend is not alone, but I'm glad you walked away and told him why.

I don't have a cell phone, I simply refuse to give in to all the pressure. It's ridiculous the number of times I've been talking to someone and heard, "I have to get this," and I know they don't have to at all. My husband does taxes for people as a part of a food bank/free store. He's there, unpaid, volunteering to do their taxes and they take personal calls all through the appointment, making him wait with his questions while they chat. They always say, "What if it's an emergency?" If it's an emergency the other person should be calling 911 not you!

Think of how we went to school and were out of contact with our parents all. day. long. Young parents today couldn't stand that. They wouldn't be able to imagine going an entire day without talking to their partner, either. My mother called me once a month on Sunday.

I just don't get it.

I did enjoy drinking Kona bean coffee (from Hawaii); but that was decades ago.

I dislike green peppers with a passion. I can't seem to acquire a taste for them. Enjoy yellow, orange and red peppers though. The green pepper has a taste all of their own.

My sister laughs at me when I start picking around at a cooked meal with my fork... looking for those pesky green pepper pieces. One time, an older lady that we've known for ever found out I was in town and invited me and my sisters over to eat. Guess what she was serving?!?

Stuffed green peppers. I ate all of the 'stuffing' but not the pepper.
