Simple exercises to reduce eye strain.

one simple thing I learned, and it works very well....
When we look as close as possible, that is when our eye muscles are contracting the most.
When we look at the horizon or the sky...something very far away, that is when our eye muscles are relaxed the most.
so, simply looking out the window at the sky or something very far away, is very relaxing to the eyes and just tension in general.
I am not sure how far away an object has to be. I would assume, at least a football field away??

The article mentions the "Bates Palming Exercise"
I have done this one. It really works incredibly well. You do have to, well, "get it right." - you have to place your palm in there just right...not too much pressure, but enough that it really shuts out the light.
Total relaxation. If you do it right, your vision can be a little fuzzy for about 30 seconds after.
I think this thing is actually from Hatha Yoga and is ancient...
