We have heat indexes of 110-120 degrees at various times throughout the week.

Ron has to work in this heat!!! 😩 (He’s in construction so much of his work is outside!)

This is insane! 🔥
Yes, it is insane. We are used to 100+ degree temps in Dallas IN JULY. We were at 98 degrees in May and have already surpassed 100 degrees. Much of the country is in this "heat dome".

I'm sorry you had to come back to this after being in CA. I'm also sorry your hubby has to work in this. Just tell him to stay hydrated!

Don’t get me wrong, I love AC, and think Carrier should be nominated for sainthood! When I was a kid, however, and dared to complain about the heat in an un-air conditioned house, my mother would simply fix me with one of her withering stares, and say “It’s summer, it’s supposed to be hot!” 🔥

Ah yes, the good ole days! They were pretty bad, actually…and hot! 🥵

We hit 92 the day before yesterday. My house has zilch insulation and the back, where the kitchen's located, is mostly glass. Last night, finally, I got a family member over to put up reflective window film and I hope it helps. (I had been asking for weeks.) My temperatures are dropping, but the afternoon sun turns the kitchen into one huge oven! I have two ceiling fans and two window air conditioners that were running non-stop - I can wait to see my electric bill!FOXY ICE UPLOAD.jpg

OMGoodness Ronni. I hope your husband will be safe out there! We in the east (northern N.J. have also been seeing some high temperatures. A few days ago our heat indices reached 100 to 103. I can't imagine what 110 - 120 feels like! Try to keep cool and stay safe.

Yes, the problem is I can't get anyone out here to install them, and I can't lift them. So, box fans.
I have the same problem, but did get family to help. If you can not find help, try your local senior center or even the NextDoor app. If you can keep a low-sided tray of ice in front of them, it really does help. Also, if you feel overheated, relaxing in a tepid bath should help. Please stay safe.

Boiled here. Running near 100, and my central AC died last month. $6000 they want to replace it, and can't quite do it. Funny, when I thought it was getting weak 2 years ago, it was only $1800. Shoulda.....
What are your A/C symptoms?? Fan on outside unit not working?? Easy fix by replacing a capacitor. A/c people don't tell you this.
