Look for the you-tube videos of schools of rays swimming thru the ocean - they are gorgeous and 'poetic'.

They look better swimming. Wasn't it a stingray that killed the famous Aussie wildlife expert Steve Irwin years ago?

Just the stinger part. Steve did something or smelled wrong or looked wrong, so he got walloped exactly in his heart.

He liked/loved the critters too, so just wrong place, wrong time to be there.

I was on my beach in MA and found a large ray, about a quarter of this size, washed up on the shore. It was very exotic. I was sorry I was alone on the beach and couldn't talk about it with anyone. It scared me, but was strangely beautiful.

I knew they had big stingrays in the Mekong river, but not that big! They also have some huge catfish.

Biggest stingray I ever caught was about 150 lbs, and it sure seemed really big to me. It was a saltwater ray.

How excited they all look!

Catching a stingray is very exciting. My Dad, 2 brothers, and grandpa would rent a row boat and fish an inlet near Monterey. There was a power plant that released hot/warm water and they would be around there. Probably the biggest was about 100 lbs. Same with catching sharks too. We released them after.
