I got a letter today with a one dollar bill on one page and a quarter on another page. This company claims to give money for opinions you give by agreeing to fill out surveys. Some as much as five dollar and more depending on how lengthy the survey may be. It says "your home has been selected"....how many times have we heard that? In closing I will say thank you for the dollar twenty-five but no thanks!

I also received one in the mail a couple of months ago. I tried it just for fun to see what would happen bc it doesnt hurt to have an extra $5. Did the survey, and they actually awarded me $5 and then asked if i wanted to get another $10 for another one. Did the other one and got the $10. I just made 15 bucks doing nothing but clicking buttons. They asked if i wanted to sign up to continue receiving more and since I’d just won $15 I said hell yeah. Every now and again, I get an email asking to fill it out for a $5 reward and everytime, i get the 5 dollars promised. I understand the skepticism but they only recruit researchers randomly via mail so for anyone else wondering, if you get an invitation in the mail, it is in fact legitimate.

Again, my 2 cents, 'they' can keep their money and I'll keep my opinions but, again, that's just me. I'm old now and don't trust anyone, well, except for my wife, I trust my wife but she's spent the last 50 years proving she's trust worthy ;):coffee:. Don...

I would just be careful as to what you click on. You can inadvertently download malicious software. "Some malware can be installed at the same time as other programs that you download. This includes software from third-party websites or files shared through peer-to-peer networks."

I don't know you or your wife, but I do know the saying, "Trust, but verify."

Years ago, I was asked, in a letter, to be in a government opinion pool. There was no money involved. I said, "yes'. Once a month, I'd get a call to "take a few minutes of my day" to answer some questions. Have you ever spent a fun filled 90 minutes answering every imaginable question about your views on "farm land"? I only did it a couple of times.
I don't know anything about "SSRS" but when I did it, there were security procedures so that I knew it was the government, and they knew it was me. If they don't have similar procedures, I'd be very skeptical.

I'm getting very cautious about who and what I respond to. Today, I was getting all ready to make a political donation to some candidates I really like and believe in, and then remembered the avalanche of mail, email, etc. I triggered off the last time I donated to a political candidate. And that's a candidate I really, really like. But I'm sorry I ever sent him any money. I get email from him every day, plus frequent texts, etc. I realize they need to raise the money, but sometimes they have to realize what a pain in the butt this is to their donors.

Before I was retired (2021) and owned a small business, I donated a fair amount of money to a variety of favorite charities. Since then, and having moved to a retirement community, I get more requests for donations the I evert did in the past! Like maybe a half dozen on average per day. And many of these are charities (I assume) and parts of the country that I have never heard of.
