What a terrible tragedy......... that only 6 idiots were killed. At least a small bit of justice.
Sometimes, torturing animals has a price. Just wish it was higher.

At least six people have died and more than 200 were injured after an accident occurred at the venue of a bullfight in Colombia.
The spectators were watching the bullfight in El Espinal, Colombia -- about 100 miles southwest of Bogota -- on Sunday when several stands collapsed, the Tolima Civil Defense told ABC News.
In addition to the six people who died, more than 200 were injured, 10 of whom are in serious condition, according to the Tolima Civil Defense.

Torturing animals for sport or entertainment disgusts me.

I often said that if I am ever in Spain, I wouldn’t attend a bullfight. I think it’s a tradition over there, but maybe they should forego it.

The worship of the death defying dare devils. What a spectacle. The amount of tragedies involving masses of fans ( riots, stands collapsing, people falling from balconies... ) is the chance the thrill seekers take. Someday the time will come for robots to fight the bull...that will be safe?

Once in a while, there is some justice in this world, as this "Macho Matador" found out the hard way.

Warning: It's graphic. He was gored through the throat & out his mouth. He lost his tongue & all his teeth, which suits me just fine. He won't be talking much or eating normally. Best of all, he won't be torturing animals.

I doubt bullfight karma had much to do with the collapse. From what I saw of the arena it looked rather shabby and well used. It's a wonder it was still standing.

Bullfighting is still legal and practised today in Spain, France, Portugal, Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador. In some cases, the type of bullfighting is not exactly the same as the traditional corrida which ends with the slaying of the bull (in Portugal, for example, fights are now only done on horseback, and the bull is not killed).


The sport has been completely banned in Argentina, Canada, Cuba, Denmark, Italy, and the United Kingdom. There are some countries which fall in a gray area, where modifications have been made to Spanish-style bullfighting to avoid injuring the bull.

I've never been to a Bullfight, I wouldn't go... but I have visited several Bullrings in Spain , when there's no-ne there and the stadium is empty..

Reminiscent of the Roman amphitheaters - I expect the slave/gladiators to be out any moment. Some folks' ideas of fun are really distressing to me. /-;
