Inconsiderate neighbor.....

My late fiancƩ, Sifuphil, once mentioned that when he and his young family relocated from New York to Pennsylvania, the first question their neighbours asked was what church they attended. He found it rather disconcerting. Lol

For many years we lived in Naperville, Illinois a Chicago suburb. At least at that time, fireworks/fireworks displays were illegal for individuals. I never minded the fireworks on July 4, but the fireworks starting at 12AM celebrating the new year were a bit much. It was almost unbelievable the amount and frequency of the explosions, it was almost continuois. It sounded like you were in the middle of a war zone. Too many rich people with money to spend on tons of illegal fireworks.

Imagine you were a child FOR ONE DAY or had just landed on the Earth and never seen the magic of fireworks !

Nice post! I have found that, following my retirement, my perspective on life is going back towards when I was young. I grew up in a small mountain town and the 4th of July was something very special. We had a big Rodeo, and Parade down main street, a Carnival with "big rides" would set up in town for a week, then to top it all off on the 4th of July, up in the large college football bowl we would get to see a very big fireworks show.
The 4th was a time for families, shooting off our own fireworks was not done by most, since we had such a big show to attend...

Great fun it was...and we never forgot what we were celebrating!

Yes, I know I will be hated for what I'm about to write:

Imagine you were a child FOR ONE DAY or had just landed on the Earth and never seen the magic of fireworks !
Imagine you saw the magic in everything, the aliveness in everything, FOR ONE DAY!
Imagine how things would be if FOR ONE DAY you didn't complain about ANYTHING!
You didn't gossip today, or judge anyone or anything. You were not critical of anything.
If you saw everything as joyful and wonderful! You saw everything with new eyes.
You're not old anymore. You see everything as fresh, new and exciting.
FOR ONE DAY you are tolerant of other's happiness. You giggle at what used to make you frown.
You would be astonished at the incredible things that would happen in your life!

The fireworks are a celebration of the birth of the greatest nation on the Earth.
One day it will be great again. Join in. Celebrate with abandon!

Sorry if this post offended anyone.
I completely agree, it's the 4-5 days before and after that make me think they just like the noise and blowing things up much more than celebrating the birth of a nation. But freedom for what you want to do can often disturb others. There must be give and take in a free country.
