Damn.
At least you have a positive outlook about it in that it's not as bad as it might be, which is a good start. :)

I was recently diagnosed with "moderate fatty liver disease" also, and an enlarged gall bladder. Diagnosis was thru multible blood test and an ultra sound, plus some physical symptons. Yet I fit none of the typical profiles, I never drink alcohol, I exercise with both weights and cardio, never smoked, not diabetic, have a great diet and am zero pounds overweight. Doc had me do a food log and my diet is only around 5% of calories from fat, which she said is one of the lowest she has ever seen(but she's very young, lol)

For me everything seems to circle back to an autoimmune disorder that I was diagnosed with 14 years ago.

Anyway...if you are carrying extra weight and lose it, fix your diet and moderate alcohol you should be able to reverse it. Good luck!

Maybe lemons will help. I hope so.

Yes, losing weight, getting some exercise and eating right can help you. I used to have that condition and did what I was supposed to for some time and then did not take as good care and ended up with Cirrhosis. Still functioning pretty much ok except for tiredness much of the time. I hope you get better. ;)

Your liver will benefit greatly by quitting alcohol and losing weight.

I was diagnosed with NASH (Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis) last year. Today is my last day of an almost-year-long "double-blind" clinical trial of a new liver medication. Of course, like all clinical trials, I have no idea ( and I'm told I never will) if I've been taking the medication or a placebo.

The only thing I have left in the study is a full day of blood and other tests, a Fibroscan, and an MRI tomorrow and a liver biopsy next week. I didn't enjoy the last one and I'm sure not looking forward to this one, either.

The only thing I do know is that my Fibroscan numbers have been slowly going down and that's good.

i do have lots of tiredness also. it hits me all of a sudden i have to lie down and sometimes i nap

I was prescribed Xenical (Orlistat) for fatty liver, around 2000. Because of the somewhat unpleasant side effects, I took it every 3rd day or so. Along with a diet very low in fats, I lost a fair bit of weight over a few months. The only thing is, when I stopped taking it, the weight came back.

My Sil was diagnosed with this ........ he eats very healthy and not significantly overweight or much of a drinker.
it is interesting the different approaches ......vegan/ low fat/ or keto/ or in SIL case went non dairy ....no longer considered to have fatty liver.
I hope you find what ever works for you in this condition.

people say things like eat a "healthy diet" but for many what defines it..... It is clear one size does not fit all

some folks have done very well on a keto lifestyle reversing #s and losing weight
but those selling another approach share "studies" where it had devastating effects on certain people ...... perhaps we should Quit trying for a one size fits all.
every where u look new medications for weight loss
people even squabble over simple gimmicky things like try to get 10,000 steps a day who cares if it was more of an PR projection in Japan then REAL studies if it gets people out to walk or exercise.
Far too many IMO diseases or conditions have being overweight as a Risk factor.
