Do you have ceiling fans?

We have a ceiling fan in our bedroom, and one in the guest room (the only other bedroom in the house.) Ron has trouble sleeping in the summer, so he turns the AC down when he gets into bed (it's a NEST thermostat so it's controlled remotely) and turns the ceiling fan on. Meanwhile I'm snuggled under the down throw lol!!

When we remodel and enclose our porch, we'll have a couple of ceiling fans out there. Right now, there's a big box fan that blows on us when we sit out there.
I too have a Nest thermostat, it controls everything , including the water temperature, if I had AC it would be added to it...

If the ceiling fans here were free of dust, I would turn them on. One is in use at times. The fans haven't been dusted in a while, so I'm afraid to chance the dust due to my sinus. I have a table fan too, and air conditioning. I've only noticed trouble with my eyes since living at this location, and more worry with sinus than earlier times. I'll try what you suggest. I took your apple cider advice, and my sinus trouble is almost completely clear. Thank you.
if you have trouble with dust allergies.. take an old pillowcase and just slip it stright over each fan blade... it will prevent the dust from falling into the air and onto everything else..

Not sure if it’s the kind of ceiling fans I’ve had……but all the noise they ever made was a faint whisper if they were on high.
I've seen a lot fewer ATTIC fans, usually in a hallway ceiling near the middle of a dwelling. They can be more noisy as the ones I've seen are a lot more powerful than ceiling fans, but wow do they cool down a place.

I didn't know that ceiling fans make noise either ... mine sure don't .... I have to look at them, to see if they are on.
I always feel them, but don't hear them.

I wonder what kind they sell in other parts of the world ??

I just remember the attic fans in houses helped to release all that heat build up inside... always seemed like a good release of heat.
Had a few of these turbines on the roof for cooling.

I don’t know……I’ve never had one that actually made any noise.🤔🧐

Some ceiling fans need to be oiled, I know the brand Hunter used to sell a ceiling fan that had to be oiled ...this was several years ago???
I can't see what make mine is ... it's been up there about 15 years... hubs couldn't find anything wrong with it to make it as nosiy as it is... I have searched and apparently I can buy a 'silent fan'' in the UK.. but it's quite a lot more expensive than all the others..

Blimey... you've all led some cosseted lives if you've never had a ceiling fan that makes a noise... especially when it's on full power

This is the one in my bedroom... I can't see what make it is.. but it's noisy...

Looks like a discontinued 3200 series Hunter ceiling fan except mine had a flatter light cover. You could flip the veins because one side was laminated light wood and the other side was darker. The clockwise/counterclockwise switch was on the drum and it also had an articulated sleeve if you were mounting the fan on a sloped ceiling. Had to pay extra for longer chains and longer sleeves. The brackets holding the veins were actually cast iron. I believe the noise emanated from inferior bearings in the motor.

I hope this helped.
