Dewey Beach is notorious for wild, drunken parties, mostly involving college kids on break. The man who was killed was 43, so it doesn't sound like that was the case. The Lyft driver sounds like an idiot, both for stopping in the middle of a highway and for running away. Shouldn't be too hard to catch him, though. If he really worked for Lyft, his identity would be known.

Well, if you call "some guy" to drive you around, stuff is gonna happen. I'm sure a Lyft driver met a wonderful passenger, and fell in love, got married and had three kids. That doesn't mean when you call Lyft, you will meet Mr./ Ms. Right. Nor does it mean you'll get left on a highway, either.

Middle of the night........ 5 passengers..... my guess drunk and rowdy and then a disagreement starts with the driver......Not a smart move to piss off your ride home ....regardless of friend or hired IMO

granted a driver should have pulled off the highway........ to ask them to exit
Absolutely not the left lane .........but we simply do not know but a small part of story.
odd the other passengers did not provide more information and the lyft can be tracked by what driver accepted the ride ....some things sound very off about this.
There have been Many a situation where the passengers of ride share have killed or attacked lyft / uber type drivers.
