My first tomato harvest at new house

I'm surprised the local fauna hasn't attacked them. I have an acquaintance who loses half her tomatoes every year ro chipmunks, squirrels and bunnies.
So true. No matter how many "wascally wabbits" I shoot every spring, there are always plenty around to eat any veggie I try to grow. The ones that rabbits don't get, the deer make short work of.

A few weeks ago, I learned that there is a big difference between store-bought tomatoes & ones picked when ripe.
I bought some from a farm & I couldn't believe the difference in taste!
It is amazing and they go with most anything at every meal. If you can find "heirloom" tomatoes at the store and then let them sit out a few days, is about as close as you can get to vine ripened... in my opinion.

That bowl probably contains about $5 worth of fruit. I looked at tomatoes today in the grocery and a small carton of organic grape tomatoes is a little over $5.

From what i understand through Google, yellow tomatoes are less acidic and hence palatable for those with arthritic issues.
