Dog walker attacked by herd of cows

Decades ago, I dated the daughter of a dairy farmer. We were walking across the field where the cows grazed when one of them kinda came after us. My date used her farm girl expertise to try and drive the cow off, but the cow was persistent and unrelenting, and clearly unhappy that we were there. I was really glad when we made it to the gate enclosure, having learned that not all cows are ā€œcontented!ā€ 🐮

Poor woman! The cows must have felt threatened in some way. Normally pretty docile, they will get very protective of the calves. Around these parts, it’s not ok for someone to just walk through someone else’s pasture, especially if there are livestock and you’ve got a dog.

I enjoy being around cows. They aren’t the most intelligent animal on a farm, but they are easy to control, unless they are being worked on by a Vet. For some reason, Vets seem to irritate cows. Then again, some cows just naturally have a bad attitude.
