Have you ever watched Harry Potter films?

I wonder why you are telling us?
To answer the question...yes, I have watched the films, I have them all on DVDs and I also have all the books.
The same with The Lord of The Rings and The Hobbit, but not Game of Thrones. I read a bit of the first story but couldn't get into it.

Was Game of Thrones written by an American? The style of writing was quite different from the other authors. That might explain why I couldn't get into it. I do like an intelligent, knowledgeable writer, not one who relies on shocks and brutality to entertain.

I've seen bits and pieces of the Harry Potter films on TV. The first one looked like a bit of fun. Couldn't get interested in the others.

I've also seen the Lord of the Rings movies on TV. I've read the books a couple times. The movies took some liberties with the books, but that's to be expected. I thought they spent too much time on and overdid the battles. I guess that's to be expected too. Visually I thought they were well done.

Never saw any of the Game of Thrones. I'm not much into gore.

I'm with you on the anti-gore. I hate that stuff. Too many of the regular t.v. shows these days are like that, too.

Can understand why such is popular with the general public as well as other genres I avoid. Each to their own.

Recall watching at least part of the first Harry Potter movie one day when it played on broadcast tv and decided I probably would not bother to see others. As a science fiction fan, don't view any fantasy science fiction films, super hero movies, or animated films. Easy to do since I have not subscribed to cable tv for over 2 decades and am very resistant to click bait diarrhea of celebrity and film web news headlines. What I do see is bits of what is out there when during winter ski season am at lodging, all rooms of which have a cable tv.

I've listened to all the HP Books on audio and seen all the movies - read The Hobbit forever ago and have seen, I think, all of the connected movies. Game of Thrones was great for a few seasons and then became too disturbing.

@Lavinia, What is wrong with you? Who does that? Comes onto a public forum wherein they must know there are people from the United States, and disparages American writers? What can you be thinking? Do you have no manners, no social grace at all?

Yes, you're quite right...it was bad grace. I'm a great fan of the Shannara stories, (have all the books) and that was written by an American...also Robin Hobb is another of my favourite authors.

I have never seen a Harry Potter film.
Nor have I seen a Lord of the Rings film.
Same with Game of Thrones.
Not interested.
Neither have I and I am still alive and enjoying everyday of my life. I would rather gaze at the beautiful ladies of the opposite sex than waste my time with those films but I'm sure those that watch them are just crazy about them.

Have seen all the movies. Have all the books, my son read them when they first came out. Read lord of the rings in high school. Also have watched all of those movies. The kids watched game of throwns when they lived here and I watched with them. I enjoyed them all.

Read the Harry Potter books twice. Watched the films several times with my grandchildren and thoroughly enjoyed them. Also been to Harry Potter World twice with my granddaughters. Was meant to go for a third visit but Covid came along and put a stop to that. Fingers crossed we will go next year. Not read or watched Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones.
