I received from Heir Hunters Company in the UK
I will take you all out for a bang up meal when I get it.

Apparently this is a legitimate company but oh my, the 'Admin Emissary' did not even bother to give his name.
Here is part of the email

"We wish to notify you again that your name was
mentioned as heir to the sum of 950,000.00 sterling pounds. In the last testament of our deceased client name now withed......( spelling)
I and my team of the Heir Hunters Company in the United Kingdom are detectives assisting distant relatives of people who have died with or without making any official will."

All rubbish of course...just thought I would give you a chuckle to start your day...

I already won the El Gordo lottery in Italy about 15 years ago. They must have hit a few snags in the dispersal, but I expect it will show up in my account any day now.

I actually did get an inheritance from my grandmother. She left me her shares in a gas well once found on her property. The large cashier's check came quarterly in the amount of fourteen cents.

I knew a woman who's elderly father fell for one of these scams. When that frontal lobe goes out, there is no logical thinking going on. He cleared his account, sold the car. She said he still was holding on to the house. He turned over power of attorney for his wife to this daughter because he couldn't be bothered. He was too busy with his new friends. She tried to get his capacity taken away but she said he passed all tests. I know her mother died, how it played out with the dad, I don't know.
