Quirks. We all have them.

I work with the food on my plate so that I have an even number of bites of each item, so that by the time I’m done, the last bite for example is also the last piece of the steak, potato and veggie.

I count my supplements as I put them in my pill minder for the next two weeks. The count is always going to be the same…14 pills for each of the dozen supplements. Still I count. Every time.

I keep a fresh bottle of water by my bed at night. If I should forget to bring it in with me I’ll get out of bed to go get it, even though over half the time I never wake up to have a drink.

I am chapstick-obsessive and opinionated. The only one I’ll use is Burt’s Bees vitamin E and peppermint. I have Burt’s Bees everywhere. In the kitchen by the sink. Next to the chairs I sit in, in both the den and the living room. By my bed. In my makeup bag. In my purse. In my car. And one that sits in my dresser which I slip into my pocket when I'm wearing anything that has pockets. And I always have 3-4 spares in my nightstand

There are more but I’ll shut up now. You?

I have a little fabric "container" that I line up my pills in, every morning. Then, I take them in order, every hour on the hour.

I also rinse any cup/bowl/plate, etc. that I use, and immediately load it into the dishwasher. I hate having dishes sitting in the dish-rack, even if they're rinsed.

I'm sure I've posted this before, but I straighten everything. I can't stand anything crooked or not lined up. Pictures, light switch covers, heating vent covers, drawer handles, glasses in cupboard, silverware, things on the kitchen counter, etc. It's a curse! :devilish:

I don't think I have any quirks tbh...

I put pills in a dispenser, I don't count them in. I keep water by my bedside , and will , like you Ronni, get out of bed to go down and get it if I've forgotten.. but that's because I have to take a Pill first thing in the morning when I wake..

Hmmm.. can't think of anything.. gimme more time

I agree with Nathan. A lot of what's listed here is OCD behavior. Not OCD enough to cause problems in someone's life, but enough so that there's a level of irritation or discomfort if you don't follow (objectively) unimportant behavioral patterns that you've set for yourself.

I don't have a lot of these. A certain level of disorder is fine with me, including slightly askew wall hangings. I get to it when I get to it.

That said, I'm uncomfortable around certain grammatical errors and have thrown away otherwise perfectly serviceable gifts due to incorrectly placed or missing apostrophes. No matter how lovely it was, I couldn't live with an ornament personalized as "The Smith's".

Why wait?

That's a good thought. Maybe I'll ask people close to me, and there aren't many, what quirks they think I have.

I feel either quirkless or overly quirkified, not sure which.
Well you can't count kvetching since kvetching is not a quirk, but a rite, and you can discount borderline obsessive cat-petting because it's recognized by medical professionals as therapeutic, but don't all people of *our shared ancestry* have quirks?

Or maybe we are the quirkless. Maybe it's the rest of the world that's afflicted. hmm

I count lots of repetitive actions I do consciously (like number of strokes while brushing teeth or drying a dish), but not automatic things like steps while walking.

I count to a certain number, over and over. I also use this number while calculating number of items (instead of using multiples of 10, as most people do).

Can't think of any because I'm not regimented at all!
Don't need coffee or pills or drink or smokes. Just wild and free!
except:
Shades and hues of color have to interplay with each other.
Can't relate to colors clashing or shapes and form that arn't enjoyable to look at.
and,
I have to create. I couldn't imagine a world where I couldn't write,
or draw, or paint or design or sculpt, or invent.
Guess that's a quirk.

@StarSong oh same!!!!!

I grimace…I just can’t stop myself….when I see these things! 😖 And I don’t think it’s my imagination that it’s becoming more and more prevalent.
