My Hubby and I just went to Seattle for a long weekend. Despite the reports, it is alive and well and still a place you can walk around without fear. We had great Thai and Indian food and walked the city for what must have been miles.

My corporate headquarters was there for many years, so I made quite a few friends through my work. There are a couple of ladies that I keep in touch with consistently and we had lunch with them. They were part of my sales team and they will forever be an important part of my life.

We then attended a concert with the Pet Shop Boys and New Order. They were my Hubby's favorite 80's bands, and I have never seen him so excited. They were great!

Our niece, who we have known since she was a baby, and her fiance just moved to the Seattle area but they have not seen it. They are in their early 20's, total tech nerds and are already very successful. He works for Google and she works for another big tech firm creating Apps. We are so proud of them. Since we have spent so much time in Seattle we took them to the Space Needle and the Chihuly exhibit. They were obsessed with the engineering aspects of everything. We just love the sights.

Our niece's fiance then took us to the Amazon Spheres, which are mind-blowing, to say the least. He works there 3 days a week. Part of the sphere is immersive in nature, with a tree that permeates the area. The other area is for meetings. We never even knew this existed, but if I had to go work anywhere this would probably be the place.

This was the best long weekend we've ever experienced. The weather was sunny and in the 70's, which is rare for Seattle in October, so we felt truly blessed. Thanks for letting me share!

Glad that you all had a wonderful long weekend. Really happy to learn that Seattle isn’t the mess that they’ve been portraying on the media.

Thank you! I used to travel to Seattle almost once a month prior to Covid and really enjoyed it, but recently the news has portrayed it as a city that is overrun with crime and homelessness. I took a chance during this visit and found that it is once again a vibrant city that is beautiful and walkable. I actually found people to be more friendly than pre-pandemic. I would highly recommend it.

Way back, in the 60's, we used to travel to Seattle (from Vancouver), and always enjoyed the city.
Glad to hear you enjoyed meeting up with family & friends, and had such a great time.

Love the photos ❤️

Looks like a great time you had on your visit to Seattle. I live 50 miles
from the city, used to work there at times, long ago though. Sure
enjoyed your pics, Dseag !

My lady almost fell for an American over the weekend. It's a magnificent Buick, note which side the steering wheel is.
Years ago we too had a Yank Tank, again note where the steering wheel is, servicing and garaging it was the reason it had to go. Our MG is so much easier, all the same, Packards and Buicks, old ones that is, do make me go moist around the eyes.
