Water, how many glasses do you drink daily?

I think this article that came out in June but was put out as info by Goodrx might help with decision making when it comes to drinking water.

Knight, You can search and find anyone's writings on the internet to back up your opinions about anything.
This doesn't necessarily make it true.
I've drank tons of water (only water) since my 20's with no adverse effects. I think it keeps you thin and healthy.
Well, Just my opinion.

I drink tea instead of water. I have well water and it has a lot of iron in it. The tea masks the taste. I drink about a gallon every day and a half .

Well, you were disrespectful. If you are not interested, move on to the next thread rather than being rude and dismissive. What is considered significant to you? What thread have you started recently that was thought-provoking? Please fill us in.

I found the topic interesting, and clearly others did as well.

I respect your opinion. My post wasn't an opinion. The article was for information about what drinking to much or to little water can affect . If read in it's entirety you would recognize that it pointed out much of what various people here have said. I thought it was informative because it referenced how to much or to little water impacts the body.

I'd say 6 8oz. glasses, usually in the form of plain seltzer or Perrier. I'm drinking some right now.

Good article. I've heard of young children dying from water intoxication after being forced to drink too much water at one time. When I was still working in the summer, I wasn't drinking any water at work during the day and was only drinking coffee in the morning and at the morning break. Would just take a few sips of seltzer or water at lunch time. I started seeing floaters in my peripheral vision, and became so dizzy I couldn't stand and had to sit down until it passed. From that day on, I brought a bottle of filtered water to drink during the workday. Was okay after that. As with many things, too much or too little can cause health problems. I think the amounts depend on the individual.

Maybe I should get into the habit of drinking more water. Remember though most fresh fruit consists of more than 80% water. I eat an apple, pear, orange, nectarine, banana, plum and a hand full of grapes, every day.

You can tell if you are dehydrated, the signs are visible in your urine. Dark and strong smelling urine is a clear sign that you need to drink more fluids.
Not only does fresh fruit provide water, but if you drink herbal (uncaffeinated not decaffeinated) unsweetened tea it is processed by the body as water. A sceptical doctor actually confirmed this after we had discussed my water in take. I make herbal suntea in summer and consume a quart of t plus another 24 ounces if plain water, or with a lemon or lime slice. I haven't had sweetened coffee or tea in decades and rarely drink soda.
If i'm splitting kindling, stacking firewood, bringing it in house i generally consume more water, as NM a fairly dry climate. This year has been more humid so far, we'll see what winter brings.

Read so many pros and cons about drinking water. Never been a big water drinker, I get a glass during the day if thirsty. I drink my two cups of coffee daily, had to adjust that down was causing stomach problems & coffee is said to be diuretic, that again is just someone's opinion. I keep a glass near the bathroom so if I start cramping in the night I assume it's because of dehydration & drink a glass. I figure my body will let me know if I need more, not the internet.

No disrespect but...
1) As the op responded any post is easily skipped.
2) Perusing the responses to what you view as insignificant questions can help us a) get to know other members better and b) if we keep an open mind maybe gain some new insights or perspectives.
AND
3) This is not necessarily an insignificant question. While some of us are very conscious of our physical state and listen to our bodies, not every one does. Water is as essential to life as oxygen and food. Too many people reach for things to drink that are wet but won't provide hydrating water when thirsty.

Oh, You are such an intelligent man. I would love to hear YOUR private, personal opinion on things, not some nameless person on the Internet.
But, yeah, I see your point, my friend.

Having just viewed this entire thread and posts from everyone, I will say
it enlightened me about individual water thoughts from each member.
I appreciate reading each and every post and what you had to say..
Good inputs...

In my community, and I live near the main hospital and clinics, there
monthly are a variety of what is called health topics of interest. They
are from Urology departments for their patients and a wide range of
other departments, usually about 7 classes each month. This month I
drove an elderly friend, who is having kidney challenges over to the
WATER class. She was thrilled to get out and attend it, and I enjoyed
it also. Finding of course as said in my initial post here, I realized I
simply do not drink enough water, so am picking up pace with it
for sure. I always knew I should have better intake but have been
substituting it with other fluids, unsweetened iced teas, even herbal
teas, but the water itself, not so much.

Have a great day! Emeraude

Not sure of the quantity, but I carry a huge glass of ice water up to my office each morning and drink it with my coffee. I then drink another one with lunch. I carry bottled water to the gym and continually refill it. I then drink cold green tea when I return home and have another huge glass of ice water with dinner. Hydration helps the muscles, and I want to stave off losing muscle tone for as long as I can.
