Another School Shooting

I don't like calling these killers 'shooters'. It makes them seem like a character in a video game. They are murdering, cowardly pieces of crap who like shooting fish in a barrel. Repeat these school shooters are CRIMINALS, MURDERERS, COWARDS among other things. Some say never mention their name but if their names were mentioned in the right context any fame they seek becomes a little less attractive. Crime is not a contest and killers are not a video game player.

The pos also was heard saying he was tired of the darn school. He was 19 and last attended in 2021. Some reports of mental health issues although unclear at this time.

Hate to bring it up but local police got done what the Uvalde police should've done. It was over in less than 8 minutes while in Uvalde they waited for an hour?

Police this morning said he left a note. Said he had no friends and no family. Actually they said he lived with family. I'm sure more will be revealed in the coming weeks. But is clear that anger boiled over, and an analytical choice to kill hundreds became his life.

I actually attended that school 50 years ago when it was a regular high school. The neighborhood it is in today, is a dangerous high crime place. St Louis itself is #2 on nation's murder ranking. I don't go into the city anymore.
 
Schools need to start arming the teachers that are willing and able to carry concealed weapons. Most all these kid killers will not attack anywhere that might shoot back.

I hear ya. We used to go to the casinos in the western part of St. Louis a couple times a year. After the Ferguson riots, a few years ago, we quit going over there....I'd hate to have a flat tire on I-70 in SL. But then, Kansas City isn't far behind with it's violence, anymore. It seems that lunacy is growing in most of the cities.

"Seven security guards near each door?" Yes, unarmed security is cheaper, since they are basically regular citizens wearing a uniform for minimum wage. How does that protect anyone from a shooter?

That guard alerted school officials and made sure police were contacted.
Harris managed to get inside anyway — Sack declined to say how, saying he didn't want to “make it easy” for anyone else who wants to break into a school.
 
My daughter was the substitute nurse at school then they asked her to teach an autistic boy. She is at the same school as her daughter. How I wish the schools would teach from home. I worry every day about my daughter and granddaughter.
 
This is just too much! Our children should not have to fear for their safety and lives while getting an education! There were scares in two of the schools in my town over the last couple of months. One was in my grandson's high school, which is a charter school. I believe one was a bomb scare which proved to be a hoax. Another may have been a warning about a shooter. @Sassycakes I know what you mean. I'd be afraid to send my children to school if I was a mother because even as a grandmother I'm apprehensive about my granddaughter in college and grandson in high school attending classes.
 
The interviews with the students at the school yesterday show they are very traumatized. One young woman stated she didn't want to go back to school.
 
Some say to arm teachers and get more firearms in the schools. When and if that happens, we will have more kids killed only it won't make the news. It'll be one or two at a time "accidentally". Due to the current SCOTUS, most states no longer require any training for a concealed carry permit. Some states don't even require a permit. So, we want people untrained in the use of the firearms they carry... untrained in dealing with high intensity situations... having firearms in their coat pockets as they walk the hallways?

The answer is to keep these high capacity firearms out of the hands of those who should not have them. Minimum age of 21 to purchase. Full background checks. 3-day waiting period. And, no firearm capable of being loaded with more than 8 cartridges. This 19 year old should never have had access to a military style weapon and over 600 rounds of ammunition.

Also, I am in favor of having armed security officers at the schools... IF they have completed the same training as any law enforcement officer in their specific jurisdiction. This means full training in the use of the firearm they carry. This means completing a "Shoot! Don't shoot!" course.

Money... Lobbyists... Politicians... Dead children.
 
Another AR-15 shooting. Those guns are far too dangerous to be sold legally to civilians. This kid was reported to have had mental issues yet was still able to purchase the weapon since he didn't have a criminal record.

None of the data available for the FBI or other Police sources do not support your statements about accidental deaths. We are talking people who are trained to handle guns, not just anyone...they main point here it that if qualified teacher carries concealed weapons, these weak-minded killers would not be targeting the schools or kids in the schools. These lunatics are looking for 'sheep' to Slauter, not armed citizens. You may disagree but don't just pick up 'talking points' with no facts to support them...

What you're really saying is "The rules & regulations that allow mentally-ill people access to firearms are faulty."
A gun is an inanimate object that does whatever a human makes it do.
 
When I was a child in the 50's & 60's, we never had these problems. We were just told not to take candy from strangers, and don't play in abandoned refrigerators (back when the city would haul away old appliances). We also had fire drills and air raid drills. But a gun toting wack job was never the problem. What on earth happened? More guns, easier to buy. Duh!

As individuals must be 21 to purchase guns in this state, we should wonder where they acquired the guns.

Example: one nut running for county attorney (I think their version of district attorney) has 'vowed' to never try 'juveniles' (minors) in adult court.
I mean it's just one more example of ready-made EXCUSES for why people are not considered responsible for their actions.
