Do you hide the Pickle?

I didn't know what that meant either. It's a German/American tradition of hiding a pickle looking Xmas ornament in the Xmas tree. And the first one, who finds it gets a little prize. So, did you "hide the pickle" when you were a kid? Do you have any other family Xmas traditions?

Never heard of it, though .. oddly enough, I have a pickle Xmas tree ornament. I love dill pickles. I wonder
if that was the original intent of it being made.

Yes, my younger brother and I, would sneak into the living room at 5am after Santa had come and gone ( no lights on ) and feel around for what presents he left us. I remember the time I felt the spokes on a 10 speed bicycle!!!!! Oh we shared the pickle.

No pickles. Nothing fun or unusual. Dad would put up a creche and the cat would pull down the Christmas tree then run and hide.

Yeah, hide the pickle meant something else when I was growing up (and mostly grown), and it had nothing whatsoever to do with Christmas. It was worth celebrating, though.

We did this when my children were very young. Would hide it somewhere in Christmas tree to be found on Christmas morning. Finder got a little gift.

In my mind the meaning of 'hide the pickle" is a lot different than an Xmas tradition. Yes I have hidden the pickle and I have proof of that fact.

Me too! Well know we know.

We didn't have Christmas growing up but if I find a pickle ornament while thrifting (stores are rolling the stuff out next week) I'll get one. As long as there is no glitter. Can't do glitter.
