The global decline in male testosterone levels; is it really a problem?

I'm guessing my testosterone levels are normal (age 70) at least. Never had blood levels checked, probably won't unless my PSA levels climb. I do request PSA labs along with my usual blood panel, as prostrate cancer is prominent in my family.

This thread has become one that should be moved to General Humor! It could stay here, though.
Men with testosterone levels high may be cracking up with laughter and actually tearing up! As we gals know, men don't cry.

This is too funny to think someone, anyone, believes this. Stirring a pot for attention? Now that, I believe.

Nestlé...Kraft and Pepsi...have been using an aborted fetal kidney molecule since 2002...for flavor enhancements...

I have a hard time believing they could

Pepsi sells several billions of cans of soda annually
small as they are, that's a lot of aborted fetal kidney molecules

.....and where is this being done?

Let me guess

Wuhan

On a serious note;
Wife and I are eating more from our garden
Still
I have a concern about fertilizer
It might be bullshit
I prefer horseshit myself. A more delicate flavor.... :)

many companies use this bio engineered molecule...
fetal tissue has been used many years in vaccine production ...cosmetic industry...candy...gum..
etc...ain't nothing new
May be
Hard tellin' fact from fiction these days

Seriously doubt many sodas or loosely termed 'foods' consumed are much good for us
No matter what/where it all comes from

Senomyx...a company out of California that specializes in the use of bio engineered products filed for patent
in 2002...was given patent...many companies use this bio engineered molecule...
fetal tissue has been used many years in vaccine production ...cosmetic industry...candy...gum..
etc...ain't nothing new
Thanks for the article you attached to #46. I did some research and it seems that there is some truth to your post #50, quoted above. However it does not appear true that fetal tissue, or molecules are found in Nestlé, Kraft or Pepsi products.

What I believe to be true is that Senomyx, a company who does product research for many food, cosmetic, and other manufacturers uses or has used kidney cells or molecules derived from a human fetus aborted in 1972. Not the actual cells from the fetus, but descendants of those cells. These have been used in the testing of some flavor ingredients that may have ended up in the Nestlé, Kraft or Pepsi food products. Not cells or molecules from the fetus, or derived from the fetus, but flavorings tested using the fetal derived cells.

That is well short of cannibalism, but I can see how some might object. I don't, I see nothing wrong with this, but others might.

Of course cannibalism makes better headlines than the more complex truth.
Let me guess

Wuhan
Didn't look into that one... but who knows...

and...being that a lot of our products contain in the ingredients labeling "contains bio engineered product"...we don't know what that is

Here is what the USDA, the agency requiring the labeling, says:

The Standard defines bioengineered foods as those that contain detectable genetic material that has been modified through in vitro recombinant deoxyribonucleic acid (rDNA) techniques and for which the modification could not otherwise be obtained through conventional breeding or found in nature. https://www.ams.usda.gov/rules-regu...oengineered foods, breeding or found in nature.

Two different things really. I suspect very few bioengineered foods were developed using the fetal cell derivatives, and as I said I see no evidence that any actually contain fetal cells or derivatives. I think it may also be true that using the derivatives the way Senomyx does would not fit the USDA definition, and would not require labeling.

You're a very nice man @Alligatorob. You are great at smoothing things over & being diplomatic. However, in essence, the summation of your argument is that the idea of fetus mixed in with our beverages is: "It's a crock."

thank you for more searching..decoding the scientific description and knowing what it means is difficult..as we eat holistic foods ...getting harder to make choices

Interesting! As a woman, I've noticed for years men becoming more and more effeminate.
(higher voices, feminine movements, make-up on men, shaving their body hair, fear, lack of courage, feminine dress)
I think it may be related to women becoming more aggressive and dominating too.
We had a cross dresser at the place I work, then he was no longer there. When asked where he was I was told that he became aggressive towards a customer and was sent on his way. When I jokingly said that I thought that he might be on maternity leave, one of the ladies had a mouthful of a hot drink that she shared with her computer screen. Her choking, laughing and spluttering brought the entire office to a standstill.

Jokes aside, parenthood is typically the next step in a relationship after making a commitment to that special someone. Surprisingly, though, a new study finds over a quarter of modern adults have no interest in having kids at all. Despite this growing trend, researchers from Michigan State University find these grown-ups are still just as happy and satisfied as their peers who have children.

Truth. Some of us just don't LIKE children. I didn't even when I WAS one, preferring the company of adults.

This is what Snopes has to say about this NONSENSE …

”Were Food Companies Caught Using Aborted Babies in Flavor Additives? Pro-life activists claim products from Pepsi and other major food producers are 'manufactured using the tissue of aborted human babies.'”

False

False”

I think David777brought up a good observation-that the data may be skewed, due to limited data base, because nobody tests for testosterone levels if there's no medical reason. It's like testing diabetics to see if they have diabetes.
They tested it specifically for these studies.

Scientists have no control over how many volunteers their study gets, but if the results generate a lot of interest, they can get funding to conduct larger ones.

So I wouldn't be surprised if it's pill pushers producers who are keeping alarming headlines like "End of Men" and stuff like that in the media.

Do you have a fact checker who verifies this story? Truth is best.

I have a hard time believing a company would do this, they must know how much uproar it would create. But if true it would be interesting to know.
In Stem Cell research, scientists did indeed accept donated tissue from abortion clinics. Amazing discoveries were made in the field of curative medical treatments. Within a few years, the federal gov't indirectly funded the purchase of fetal tissues from abortion clinics when it greatly increased funding of stem cell research. Suddenly, those fetal tissues were being sold to medical research centers and prestigious universities all over the globe.

When news broke that fetal tissues were also studied by scientists on food manufacturer's payrolls, it caused a huge scandal. This was a thing, for real. I don't know it ended.

Yeah, there's no logical reason to test testo-levels unless you have symptoms of a problem.

I made the point somewhere in this thread that the testing was done on guys who volunteered for these studies, not in doctors offices or whatever.

Boy, that's the truth. It wouldn't surprise me if people are morphing what with the weird crap we're shoving into our pie-holes. My g-son bought himself a bag of Funyuns (sp?) and wolfed it down within minutes - the ingredients list took up half the back of the bag and was mostly written in Scienese and Acronym.

Speaking of crap food

My lady shops for buys at our Grocery Outlet

Bought a couple jars of some sorta cheese whiz crud
We shared half a jar and crackers curing a movie
Grabbed what I thought was my Sriracha
Poured some on the whiz to make a dip
Didn't realize it was sweet chili sauce
WHOA!
As Andy Griffith would say
'That's Some Cracker!'
