Stuff like that really grinds my gears, evil people
That's awful, sorry it happened to you. You've given me one more thing to worry about.it meant my catalytic converter was probably gone. I checked. It's gone.
Anyone here do any of these things for prevention?
Sadly, when the car was stolen off the carport, he failed to even whimper!
If I saw a theft in play, I'd stroll over and release the jackCatalytic converter thefts are absolutely rife here.. not only on the drive, but in the supermarket car park.. everywhere... takes literally seconds for these scumbags to remove it
Mine won't bark at animals, but raises h311 whenever a person comes on the property. And being a Chow of about #50, most people are afraid of her.The dog we had when I was a teen had no problem at all waking the entire house up when a stray dog or cat come down the driveway or, even worse, I came in at midnight from a date, but let my dad get his car stolen in the middle of the night from the driveway only feet from the back door.....not a yip out of her.
Years ago a cop gave a friend some good advice when contemplating that kind of thing. If I saw a theft in play, I'd stroll over and release the jack
I was told a very similar thing by the Spanish police when I had an attempted burglary at my home in Spain ..I was told to do whatever I felt necessary but not to allow the body to be found on my premises..Years ago a cop gave a friend some good advice when contemplating that kind of thing.
The friend's house had just been burglarized, for the 3rd time. He told the cop he was going to let his wife take the car, turn off the lights, and wait for the burglar with a gun. The cop told him his only advice was, after shooting, to get a knife and put it into the burglar's hand before calling the police...

Interesting video, but you know it is hard to watch when they drive on the wrong side of the road! This is a video I saw a couple of years ago.. taken in the Tesco supermarket car park, next to Ikea, the biggest Ikea in North London.. our nearest Ikea and one I know very well ...so it was of interest to me to watch this... All caught on the owners dashcam... showing how quickly and slickly as well as Brazen it's done..
Reminds me of when I'd hear about those people who had a car in the Soviet Union in the '80's. When they'd park the car the wiper blades were removed to prevent theft.Wonder if parts makers will ever bother to come up with a cat converter that snaps in, snaps out with as much ease as your car key. Then people could keep it inside between car trips.
stolen catalytic converters are NOT something new, are they? car makers need to make them more difficult to even get to.Wonder if parts makers will ever bother to come up with a cat converter that snaps in, snaps out with as much ease as your car key. Then people could keep it inside between car trips.
we drive on the correct side of the road...Interesting video, but you know it is hard to watch when they drive on the wrong side of the road!
Hopefully, they caught those people. Thanks for posting.
Not the last time I attempted to drive over there!!we drive on the correct side of the road...
as I said..we drive on the 'correct' side of the road.. as do...all of these countries..Not the last time I attempted to drive over there!!
We drive on the right, y'all on the wrong, side of the road.
Never got that one, it's the only place in the US driving on the left. Roads are winding and narrow and most cars have the steering wheel on the left side (to drive on the right). Makes for a dangerous situation.
