Do you dress "old"?

Most of my wardrobe is classic or tailored
Can't go wrong with that combo.

My wardrobe changed when I moved to Australia. Lived there for 10 years.
Just couldn't keep cool wearing the clothes I already had. Became more of a casual dresser, since I was
no longer in the work-force. Up until then, I wore jackets/blazers, tailored skirts & pants & blouses.

Casual, and comfortable…..I do follow some trends, in a conservative way, when I go to sew something.
Like Pinky…..do wear denim jeggings, leggings, but get a size larger so they don’t look like a second skin, with long tunic tops.
At home, still my so called house dresses, with a more modern twist.
I do have and wear my dressy black slacks, and nicer tops, if I need to look better than the comfort zone…..but they’re still comfy…..and…..stretch all the way.
Whatever did we do before stretch fabrics made an appearance…..everything of mine is stretch.
Pinky…..love the tunic you posted…..do you have one like that.

@MickaC

Yes, I have that exact tunic. I also wear leggings that are larger. Can't get away with the skin-tight look!
At home, I also wear house dresses, similar to the tunic, but knee-length.

It's great that you sew. I used to, many moons ago.

Casual, comfortable but no Tshirts or sloppy tops. I also don't own a pair of sweats.
Mostly it's a collared tailored, button down the front blouse, white or plaid or striped. Sometimes a turtleneck with a vest, or sweater in winter, jeans, or slacks, ankle length. Can be jeggings, but not leggings. Not into bell bottoms, cargo pants or the like.
More like classic casual. This is in case I decide quickly to go out to lunch or dinner, or committee meeting, whatever. I'm ready for the day.

Probably. I dress for comfort. Flat shoes or sandals.

I do have some standards, like, "Ew, I'd never wear that!" And I can't stand color clash.

But like @debodun , I have no fashion sense.
Shoes? You wear shoes? I wear them to work because I have to and out in public so that I'm not shunned, but as far as I'm concerned, shoes are for formal wear, along with clean Levi's and clean tee shirts. I don't even own a girl suit, just jeans and tees or sweatshirts.

Color clash doesn't bother me a whole lot, but mismatched plaids? Ack! You know the kind of mismatch I mean...where the seams are all cattywampus. Makes me crosseyed.

Yes. Style is in the eye of the buyer, in my opinion. Regular warm day ? Hawiian shirt, denim shorts, sneakers, woven straw hat, shades. Cold winter day? Levis winter parka, wool Timberland plaid shirt, GWG jeans, winter hiker boots, with a reflective heat insole inside of them, wool toque, and lined leather work gloves. Fancy event ? Made to measure suit, conservative cut, with a vest, contrasting dress shirt with french cuffs and links. Polished oxford style leather shoes in black or brown ( depending on the color of the suit ) with a tie that matches the shirt color.

Around the house, like right now ? A brown long sleeve sweater, with a grey T shirt under it, pajamas pants, sock and a pair of Mohawk made bedroom slippers. Nice and warm. And Carlos Santana on the ear buds. JImB.

I have no idea what this question means. Some of the clothing I wear is old, some is quite new. I wear trousers and shirts....I see teens and geezers wearing similar garb when I am out and about.

I have some things that qualify as vintage and more clothing that does not.

Does this ask if I dress to appear old? Heck, I am old so no matter what I wear I am an old person.

This must be a fashion or trend thing, which are qualities I care nothing about.

@horseless carriage That's not old! That's being nattily dressed. Or dapper, if you prefer.
Thank you for the compliment. The word old is somewhat ambiguous, my definition is that I dress in a fashion reminiscent of my grandfather, it was a style that was popular in the latter part of the 1930's and post WW2 1940's. That, in part, being due to the type of fashion that was the demob suit.

Did you know that at the end of that war, all The British military that were demobilised were given a complete outfit of civilian clothes?

The demob suit, as it became known, was just one part of a complete set of clothes. The full outfit included:
A felt hat or optional flat cap. A double-breasted, pinstripe, three-piece suit, or a single-breasted jacket with flannel trousers. Two shirts and collars with matching collar studs. A tie. Shoes and a raincoat.
A variety of other items were supplied, including gloves, underwear, socks, and hats.

Some years ago I was at a popular vintage 1940's event. Guests of honour were a group of American veterans. They were made to feel like royalty. One of them quipped when learning of the demob suit, "If only Uncle Sam could have been so generous."

It's winter, and I dress to keep warm.

I wear corduroy pants (wide wale if I can find them), and wool shirts or fleece-lined flannel shirts. I also have a couple of pairs of lined jeans. The shirts are plaid. I wear mock turtlenecks under them, or Henley shirts. Also have some polar fleece pullovers and a couple of cardigans.

I buy most of my clothing on eBay or at thrift stores. That way I can get the brands I like (which would otherwise be too expensive) and the quality I like. I don't want thin fleece, for example, because the weather is too cold here. So far I've had only good luck -- everything I buy is exactly how I expect it to be, or better, at affordable prices.

My dog, who will be 12 next month, is happy with his winter coat (blue), wool sweater (red), and raincoat (blue with yellow ducks).

My Bichon who is now 13 yrs old, has a large wardrobe for a dog ..many things I've bought over the years.
He has a lined yellow raincoat/w cap that zips up and has snaps. And then a warmer fur lined winter coat that has a waterproof outer shell.
A warm white wool sweater used often in colder weather, and a checkered black n white body wrap, and head gear for different weather issues.
There are also 3 pair of rubber boots that come out rarely. He doesn't like them.
For the upcoming New Year's Eve NOISE ... a thundershirt .... that one he likes to wear.

As for myself, dressing "OLD" ... no and no .... Mostly comfortable cotton pants and t-shirts work in this warm/humid climate.
Leggings for colder weather ...
And plenty of jackets and sweaters for walking, when needed.
I only own one "dress up" outfit, a long blue denim jumper w/ turtleneck sweater .... and brown leather knee-high boots.
