I heard last night that he was arrested and awaiting extradition to the U.S. Many think this will be a slam dunk on a conviction. I disagree.
FTX is incorporated in Antigua and Barbuda and headquartered in The Bahamas. So how is it that the U.S. has jurisdiction? Whose laws did he break?
Didn't he file bankruptcy in the US? If he was doing business in the US he probably has to follow US laws for the business done here.So how is it that the U.S. has jurisdiction? Whose laws did he break?

Hear! Hear!I don't feel the least bit sorry for those that got duped .... It was pure greed that put them in dire straits . Hope they learned something.
Same was true of the Madoff scandal back in 2009?
The whole appeal of cryptocurrency is that it's unregulated. Now investors are complaining that they were defrauded and swindled? That's what happens in a free market!I don't think Sam Bankman-Fried "duped" anybody. If someone creates a complicated "currency" that few understand and doesn't exist, but the price went from 0 to $millions overnight. This has all the red flags of a total scam. So, knowing that. if you invest your mom's retirement fund, is that deception?
BTW,
I came up with the way to defrigulate the ionic delta range, hellinated core isotopes, which all nations are intensely working on. And I did it. If you want to get in on making billions, send start up cash to fuzzybuddy@aol.com.
250 MILLION DOLLARS bail. And 'two other individuals'(apparently unnamed) signed/put up assets or cash. I can see family doing all they can for their child but 2 strangers putting up millions signing for a notorious criminal? They want him out for a reason and doubt it's because they think he's innocent.Always nice to have wealthy parents and friends !!!
"A recognizance bond is a written commitment from the accused to appear in court when ordered. In return, Bankman-Friedās camp would not be required to meet the full collateral requirements on the bail.
The bond was secured by equity in his family home, and by the signatures of his parents and two other individuals with āconsiderableā assets."
