MOSCOW, Idaho — Authorities have arrested a suspect in the Nov. 13 murders of four University of Idaho students, a high-ranking law enforcement source told Fox News Digital.

Bryan Christopher Kohberger, 28, was taken into custody by local police and the FBI at 3 a.m. in Scranton, Pennsylvania, the law enforcement source said Friday.

During a press conference on Friday authorities confirmed that a white Hyundai Elantra was discovered in the search – with sources saying it was towed from outside Kohberger’s home.

Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Madison Mogen, 21, and Xana Kernodle, 20, were stabbed to death in Moscow, Idaho, on November 13 - with Xana's freshman boyfriend, Ethan Chapin, 20, also killed in the massacre.

Law enforcement sources told CNN that his DNA was discovered at the scene of the crime – with officers managing to track down who owned the car seen in the area of the slayings.

Authorities then discovered that he had left the area and traveled to Pennsylvania, where an FBI surveillance team had been tracking the 6ft tall man.

He was kept under surveillance, with the FBI watching him for four days, while investigators from Moscow Police and Idaho State Police worked to get an arrest warrant.

Authorities are still appealing for anyone with information on Kohberger or the quadruple murders to get in touch.

Fry refused to rule out that the killer had an accomplice, adding: 'We have an individual in custody who committed these horrible crimes.'

Details of the killings, and the motive for them, are yet to be released with law enforcement saying a sealed arrest affidavit will be released once Kohberger is extradited back to Idaho.

He is currently in custody at Monroe County Jail in Pennsylvania until a hearing on January 3.

Friday's sensational arrest is the first major break in the case - with Kohberger asking if 'anyone else was arrested' when he was taken into custody.

I heard he asked the cops when they arrested him if they had arrested anyone else.
I saw that too. Makes one wonder because for one person to take out 4 with minimal struggle. Some witness ex residents etc say you can hear what goes on. But if the accomplishes had to subdue the victims wouldn't they leave bruises, marks discoverable in the autopsies?

What was the suspect's business in Pennsylvania again?

By asking if anyone else had been arrested, makes me wonder if one or both of the other occupants were complicit in this horror.
They were ruled out fairly quick. I'm sure they were looked at pretty hard especially the first couple of days. Doesn't mean they might not have played a role.

I followed this closely on Reddit for the last two weeks.

In the first place, Reddit (I now find out) is not a good forum for either a) accurate information; or b) nuanced examination.

Three days ago very many of the redditors were castigating (yes, you read that right, I hope) many of those who were speculating on possible suspects, saying that it was very hurtful to those named.

Yes. "Hurtful".

But as soon at this guy's name was announced, these same folk were all set to get a rope. They have no doubt that he's the one...

So much for an objective perspective...
