Any Trekkers Out There?

I watched Star Trek but was not a "fan" as the word really signifies...a fanatic about it. My favorite episode was The Trouble With Tribbles (YT video clip your post #6). I have watched a couple of the Star Trek movies starring that fine Chris Pine and probably saw a couple of the older ones too. Out of curiosity I started watching Star Trek: Strange New Worlds on Paramount + and found I liked the characters and the story lines, so watched the entire season.
@Devi You said "I always heard Star Trek fans referred to as "Trekkies" ... but what the heck. :)" You are correct.

@TeeJay The middle cat picture looks just like our Deja except the coloring is slightly different. So cute. 😻

Where No One Has Gone Before
Yes, I love Star Trek, the original, the Next Generation, and did enjoy Enterprise despite its divergence.
Our astronauts claim Star Trek inspired them. Wow.

I'm glad to see that you said Trekkers, and not Trekkies, which non-Star Trek fans say. I was a fan of the show since Day One. I was in front of my television set on September 8, 1966, at 8:30 PM, on NBC, and saw the very first episode, The Man Trap (the salt vampire episode). NBC was having a special, Sneak Preview Week. It was a gimmick to introduce their new fall line up a week before ABC & CBS did.

For awhile, later on, years later, I would put in my VHS tape (later DVD), and start watching the debut episode, at 8:30 pm, every September 8th, to celebrate the anniversary when the show first premiered. I still own all of the 79 episodes.

I am not a fanatic-y fan either, but probably rise above casual watcher fan so... I've not idea what that means, actually. LOL

I've been wanting to try, "Strange New Worlds" as I caught the first couple minutes of the first episode and it looks great. :)

While we're talking Trek, does anyone have a favorite doctor from the various series? I'm not familiar with the doctors on, Discovery, Strange New Worlds, or Piccard (if there is one). But of the remaining, older series, my favorite is, "The Doctor" from Voyager, followed closely by Dr. Phlox from Enterprise.

Do you have a favorite series, episode, character or movie? Me n' my late wife, Sue used to be pretty big fans, beginning with the original series way back when we were dating. So much so that we named 4 pets after Star Trek characters: First, we had a cat, "Tiberius". Then, another cat, "T.J." (Tiberius Junior), a cockatiel, "Seven-of-Nine" and our present cat, "Commander Chakotay of the Starship Voyageur". Personally, I couldn't watch the series, "Enterprise" because it totally messed up the continuity of the whole franchise! For one thing, that particular Enterprise, or it's captain should never have existed in the first place.

Watched all the series up to Enterprise. Agree with you completely. One and done on that series for DH & me. No interest in animated versions.

James T Kirk was my overall favorite character. Though they both annoyed me at first, I developed great affection for Data and Quark.

Did you enjoy Chris Pine's portrayal?

I see your point. Guess we can't let go! Funny they made Sulu gay because George Takei is
You know, I just got that, why people have taken issue with that; the character George Takei played was not gay so why make him so in the remake? It hadn't occurred to me, previous. Although, maybe he was and we didn't know it and it's just more openly portrayed in the new version?
