"The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says that a preliminary COVID-19 vaccine "safety signal" has been identified and is investigating whether the Bivalent Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine creates an increased risk of ischemic stroke in people 65 and older."

Hmmm. Pfizer's the booster I had last time and I'm at very high risk for stroke, so I guess I got lucky that time. If I have another booster next year I'll be going back to Moderna.

Fox News medical contributor Dr. Marc Siegel said that this isn't "proof" of a link between the vaccine and strokes.

"This is not proof. This is that they see there may be a link here, and they want to investigate it, and they're trying to be transparent," he said.

If Pfizer and the CDC are admitting the vaccine increases the risk of stroke, which they are now, people are wise to stay away from it. They should just stop the shots until more is known. Everyone who allowed themselves to be injected was just part of an experiment, on multiple levels.

Some in our unit were administered the Anthrax Vaccine when we deployed (Gulf War).
Not showing up on most 'yellow' personal shot records.
All of us were given Pyridostigmine Bromide blister packs with 21 pills to be taken 1 per day. (for Malaria)
Again, doesn't show up in your records.
VA is still tracking vets from that period for problems from these two.
I haven't had any ill effects from either so far.

As of this writing, I've had 5 Covid vaccine shots, all Pfizer.

Lucky or just one heck of an Immune System...

They have decided (at last) to stop recommending the vaccine for children and adults of all ages who are healthy.

Thank God for that at least. Save the children and let their immune systems develop normally. They have also flipped their position on people with autoimmune diseases. Now they say those people should not be vaccinated because they are prone to neurological issues.

So, the Little Red Hens are eagerly spreading needless panic for no reason once again, eh? From the New York Times:

Fears that the Covid booster shots made by Pfizer-BioNTech may increase the risk of strokes in people aged 65 and older were not borne out by an intensive scientific investigation, federal officials said on Friday.

“It is very unlikely” that the risk is real, the officials said. They urged Americans 6 months and older to continue getting booster shots. Federal officials decided to disclose the concern and the results of their investigation despite worries that the revelation might fuel anti-vaccine sentiment.

“We believe it is important to share this information with the public,” a joint statement from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Food and Drug Administration said.

A friend of mine died for the opposite reason. He was not vaccinated (this was in the early days of vaccination, when many people had not received it yet), and he had a stroke. No connection implied, he just happened to have a stroke. He was a senior, I think in his 70's. He was in a hospital in MA, recovering from the stroke, and was doing well, but unfortunately caught Covid from an unvaccinated hospital worker, and didn't make it.

Where's the panic? I just see a discussion about recent changes.

Vaccinating against Covid will continue, that hasn't changed.

I am sorry that you lost a friend. My comment below is not intended to make light of his death, but your attempt to belittle those that have legitimate concerns about these vaccines deserves a response.

Do the little covid devils carry ID - otherwise how can anyone know exactly who they caught it from. The powers that be have already admitted that the vaccinated can also transmit it. A lot of healthy young people may have had their health compromised by these vaccines. The young, who were at extremely low risk, should not have had their health sacrificed to save the elderly.

Sunny, here's a really good video explaining the FDA and CDC's "turn-around". It's only a little over 8-minutes long, and doesn't do any vaccine bashing whatsoever. Quite the opposite, really.

^^^ Yup, that asinine Covid Blame Game at work. Even a medical professional can't tell where someone got Covid.
When ya don't know where someone got Covid, just blame anyone you don't agree with - like someone who's not vaccinated. :giggle:
I recall a woman on the news visiting her sister who had Covid. She said, "Someone who didn't wear a mask did this to my sister."

That is not what CDC said.

What they have announced is they believe the data justifies additional research. Here is part of what the CDC and FDA actually said in the article cited by Fox:

"Although the totality of the data currently suggests that it is very unlikely that the signal in VSD represents a true clinical risk, we believe it is important to share this information with the public..." https://www.fda.gov/vaccines-blood-...safety-signal-persons-aged-65-years-and-older

It will probably amount to nothing, but in an abundance of caution and openness this was released. I suspect CDC is being pretty careful about being more open with information like this, after all the criticism they have gotten.

Yup but to get them to admit the vaccine may increase the likelihood of strokes is a milestone step forward. It's not effective - it doesn't stop transmission, and now it isn't safe either. So they can never say safe and effective again. I still think this narrative is crumbling. As time goes on fewer and fewer will get boosters. In N.Y. the vaccine mandate for healthcare workers ended because the "vaccine"doesn't stop transmission of covid.

My elderly computer is acting up, and won't let me copy and paste the article in today's Washington Post. I can try giving you the link, and hope you're able to see it.

(Also, all of a sudden I can't send any emails. I use Yahoo. Is anyone else with Yahoo having this problem, or is it just something to do with my computer? I may have to break down and get a new one.)

Anyway, here's the article.

Sunny, I have had ongoing issues with YAHOO email since I opened my account a year ago.
Mostly issues are with opening incoming emails, replying to those incoming emails, or sending
a new email.

Never have had much issues with HOTMAIL, or GMAIL.

Sadly, it looks like I've joined you. I can receive and send Yahoo email on my phone, but I can't answer or send an original one on the computer. Everything else on the computer seems to be fine.

FDA panel member and NEJM editor-in-chief, Dr. Eric Rubin, moments before he voted to approve the Pfizer mRNA shots for children: "We're never gonna learn about how safe the vaccine is unless we start giving it — that's just the way it goes."
