Yes, I did not know that medicare will pay for the shot now, I stopped by the pharmacy today to pick up prescriptions and I asked what the price was for the Shingles shot now and they told me if I had medicare part D there was no charge starting this year....so I got the first shot will get the second one in 2 months.Not sure if the vaccinations I have were live or what, but I have gotten them twice. The first was about 10 years ago, a single shot, more recently I got the two shot version. I was told it was more effective than the old one.
My wife had shingles just before I got the first one. It was awful, seeing that is what drove me to get it. In the US I understand that Medicare now pays for it, that was not the case last year when I got the vaccine. It was relatively expensive ~$250, but well worth it if I don't get what my wife had. So far no shingles here.
