You win a trip to a major city in the U.S. but would you go?

I watch the morning game shows and they often give trips to places like NYC as prizes. NYC has been in the news repeatedly for assaults etc. as has been other major cities. Would you go anyway?

Are they also providing a body guard or two? Free can be expensive if you survive the trip.

Remember, the IRS will want 33% of the prize value in taxes. If it's below $10,000 I'd do it. I'd make payments to the IRS for a few years.

Then I'd go walking around in the daytime. Museums, times square, World Trade Center Memorial. Liberty statue. At night, return to the batcave!

I won a trip for two to Miami about 18 years ago .... it was free, fun, and a week of great memories.... South Beach, and all.

No Florida, not for me. Los Angeles, to meet @StarSong and @win231 and I'll let them be good hosts and show me around. Haven't been to L.A. in years and years and years.

My husband used to work in NYC and was mugged there...twice. I would negotiate for different place to visit.

I wouldn't mind a trip to an exotic foreign city. But a US city, no.

I would be interested in a free trip to any American city. Boston would be nice.
However, if it involved flying QANTAS these days I would hesitate to accept.

No. Large cities have almost universally become dens of crime, and I have already seen what’s worth seeing.

Flying over cities some look beautiful, lots of history and architectural diversity that's easy to see. For me that's where the appeal ends, I have been to enough major cities to realize at street level they're all relatively the same.

My answer would be no.

New York, absolutely... I love New York. There are a whole lot of places I'd turn down, though.

I would not enter such a game show, I do not buy raffle tickets where the prize is an overseas trip.
Quite happy to stay in Australia.

NYC. Crime there is lower than most major cities, and there's a lot to do and see. I love NY.

I'd love to see NYC. I'd probably accept a free prize for any city, but would be especially happy if it was Las Vegas because I had a coworker that had lived there for a year or so and he was always encouraging me to go.

Probably NY. My only sis lives on LI, and I have not seen her in a while, as I live on the West Coast. I want to go to MOMA, Metropolitan Museum of Ary. and the Natural History Museum. I grew up in NY, but never went to them.

I've been to NYC several times, so wouldn't choose it. Also, have been to Las Vegas, Boston several times, all over Florida, the Carolinas.
I have no desire to go to California at all.
I'm not sure where I might go if I won a trip, perhaps back to Maine. I love that state!

Probably, NYC. I’d want to be there for a week. Only times have been 3 days.

Second choice would be somewhere in Florida. I‘v been, just don’t remember well enough to choose without doing some research.

Love San Diego, Las Vegas, Scottsdale, Palm Springs. Been in these areas several times.

Oh heck, give me any trip, especially if they have warm weather.
