Has this ever happened to you?

About half an hour ago someone banged on our front door. My Husband opened the door and no one was there. It has happened 5 times since then and I won't let him answer the door again. The same thing happened to a friend of mine a couple of months ago. We don't live close to one another. If they knock again I will call the Police. Has this happened to you?

No, it hasn't happened to me, @Sassycakes ... but I'm really not sure I'd wait to call the police if it's already happened five times. Keep us posted about what you decided to do... or if you find out what's going on!
 
Strange, and it does sound like it could be something bad. Hopefully its just kids playing around with you. Do you have or could you put in door peephole or camera? The camera might be best, then you'd have some record of it.

However after 5 times I think its time to call the police, and then put the camera in...

Need a ring doorbell.
 
It never happened to me Sassy, but I guess it could be kids playing a prank or something. I may be wrong, but I don't think you can call the police for just a knocking on the door, unless some property damage, threatening notes left, or something like that. I don't have a doorbell camera, but I guess if something like that continued happening at my house, I might get one just to see what kind of person is doing that. Hope it stops and nothing nefarious is happening. Did you ask any of the neighbors if it was happening to them too?
 
My wife and I have had that happen in the past and found out it was children of friends playing games. Being a spiritual person myself I do not open the door when that happens often for that is how evil spirits can enter your home when you open the door. Also, there are other things that help like turning outside lights on. Also, if you have a car with a key fob that has a remote alarm button on it press the car alarm button on when they knock on the door. Another thing that helps but sounds stupid is to start barking like a dog when it happens.
 
My neighborhood had a round of "Ding Dong Ditch" (which is what it's known as locally) last year. Kids would ring the doorbell and run. Luckily they never made it over to our street but people were up in arms about it. It was only for a couple of days and it stopped abruptly, so I imagine that the culprits were caught.

At least they're not leaving flaming paper bags of dog-doo-doo on your porch. I've heard that's a favorite prank in some areas. The residents come out, see the flaming bag and, of course, immediately stamp on it. Yuck.
 
This has never happened to me, but maybe you should call the police. It may be kids pulling a prank, but it's better to be safe than sorry in this case.
 
I have 3 cameras around my home. I probably paid too much like everything else here in Florida. They love to rip off the older people. I wanted them in color, so they weren’t cheap.
