National Golden Retriever Day - February 3rd

This is one of my favorite dog breeds,the last dog our family had was a golden retriever named'TY
We got her when she was a yr old,she was a very sweet,loving dog. She liked to chase her tail with a tennis ball in her mouth. She loved to lie by the fireplace, one time we forgot to put the screen on, she got up and didn't realize the tip of her tail was on fire, couldn't figure out why we were fixing it,God awful smell!
She loved the snow, one time I was using towel to get the snow out from her paws, she didn't like this, she nipped at me.I told her 'you are a bad dog',walked away . I went to sit in the den couple minutes later she came in,I tried to ignore her. She proceeded to push her head underneath my elbow looking at me with sad brown eyes saying 'sorry' I hugged her, she wagged her tail I still have her dog tags sitting on a small ceramic retriever statue
My brother always had retrievers, last dog, Buster died last Sept age 11,sweet dog. I keep hoping one of these yrs, a golden will win Best in Show at the annual Westminster Dog Show Sue
