Couldn't agree more.I dislike those here that obviously dislike others and never miss an opportunity to make a petty little dig at everything they post - pretending to be classy but falling short of the mark.
My daughter's pet leave is trying to convey messages through social media. Only being able to add emotion etc through little faces.
I agree with her. Even by phone you can judge a person's emotion .
My pet peeve is she will only acknowledge a text if it requires a specific answer. A yes, ok, thumbs up lets me know she got the message. If you call she rarely answers. I hate to cancel my own daughter but,................
Just kidding, would never do that.
It's a cute, inoffensive way to make the point.I'm using it!![]()
Why? My guess about you is that very little offends you.I'd be offended.
You're not one of my kids. We're a playful family that prizes humor.I'd be offended.
She's (my daughter) being offensive so she deserves it.I'd be offended.
If I don't answer right away, I have a reason: I don't want to answer, I'm busy at the moment, I didn't receive the message ... some kind of reason. If you want to nudge me in the direction of answering, I'd prefer a more respectful method. Plain words might be best. Why? My guess about you is that very little offends you.
here in the UK it's a Pound coin...Re; Hearlady post #100 The abandon carts are a nuisance, danger and costly to the market (with costs passed to the customers).
Most of the markets in Vancouver, Canada require a deposit (from $0.25 to $1.00 for rental) Carts returned to the "cart corrale" properly, the deposit will be "released" automatically. There very few "homeless" carts here.
We have Aldis here. You deposit a quarter in a slot then get it back when you return the cart. Also, you use your own bags.Re; Hearlady post #100 The abandon carts are a nuisance, danger and costly to the market (with costs passed to the customers).

I don't carry a coin around with me for trolleys ( carts).. I have one of these trolley coins...they're the exact same size as a pound coin, saves trying to remember to bring change ..We have Aldis here. Much better system and I find myself going there more and more. In fact, I just went and the produce quality and price was better than our Air Force commissary. And, I got the most delicious Roasted Garlic Hummus.
Thanks BC I forgot about Aldis and their cart free parking lot!
Oh, I'm so offended someone said something negative to pierce my balloon of joy. Oh poor me. So don't read the thread. We're not all Pollyannas. You're clutching your pearls so tight you'll strangle yourself. Oh my, oh dear.
Thank you Ruthanne, for this thread. It's healthy to have a place to gripe instead of holding it in.
My good friend Mycroft used to live at that address but his brother threw him out.Nefarious? Who knows…you have two wands and super powers…you can get up to anything.
Anyway, I trust you so my address is :
221b Baker Street/Marylebone, London W1
It's been difficult for all of us......
When you wrote about the recent crime waves the cities, I was particularly shocked because my mental picture of Sweden is that all areas of all cities were quite safe.
......
The reporters themselves are only following orders. Maybe biased media should be banned: Politically-owned media outlets. Embedded journalism. Etc.I think that news reporters who twist the facts and statements that people say should be fired from their jobs and face some kind of criminal prosecutions.
For good reasonMy good friend Mycroft used to live at that address but his brother threw him out.
He detested string instruments of all sorts. For good reason![]()
