Are you more wary of vaccines going forward?

So how many times has the bolded happened in your lifetime? As far as I know, all of the other vaccines were routine based on age, need or whatever requirements by country.

I've had the same primary physician for about 27 years. With consultation, I make the final decision. As a science guy, I will continue to follow the information. Conspiracies are for the gullible. I would think that when the next pandemic happens everybody on SF will already be deader than a doornail. :ROFLMAO:

Which strain of Covid did your friends get? I understand that vaccinated people sometimes contracted the most recent variant but avoided hospital stays and death.
I don't know what strain they had. They just said they caught covid after being fully vaccinated. Wasn't the point of the vaccine to prevent people from getting covid and also spreading it? I believe it was.

Going forward with any further Covid vaccines for myself, I am unsure at this time, but leaning
in the direction of no, time will tell and along the way I will decide, and in that place in time.

I have had three covid vaccines and one booster, nothing in the last year of 12 months.

I might be wary of vaccines if I watched Fox News because of all their conspiracy theories regarding the vaccines, but I don't. I'll continue to trust the science.
Same here. I trust the vaccine going forward, and haven't fallen for any of the nutty conspiracies. COVID-19 is a deadly virus which caused a worldwide pandemic that killed many people in the United States and around the world.

All the reasonable people knew from that start that getting the vaccination did not guarantee never getting Covid, but it was to prevent it from being so severe if you did get it, not to end up in a hospital on a ventilator and possibly dying from it.

Does the flu vaccine prevent people from getting the flu? No, of course not, it just makes it less severe. There was no 'debacle' and paranoid people who visit certain social media sites and watch TV shows like fox, are easily fooled and poorly informed of many things, including getting vaccinated during a pandemic.

I think those that swallow everything the government and their media propaganda cheer leaders tell them are easily fooled, poorly informed and gullible.

Yes, definitely weary. Haven't gone for Covid vaccines, none of us and won't bother. Never had the flu shots after I saw what it caused to relatives. Finally, one given regularly to children and one given after pregnancy to protect the next one caused my son's illness and death.

Wearing the face coverings for so long means that we've been free of the normal cold seasons illnesses so overall happy of our decisions. However, our planned trips went out the window due to current requirements. It'll have to be back to local day-trips.

Totally vaxed and all the boosters. Also had the flu, pneumonia and shingles vaccines. Right now I still go out masked, avoid crowds, wash my hands etc. I have not been sick for the last 8 years, had a small child in the house, bringing in germs from daycare and school. Did not even catch a common cold. Now that I live alone I want to avoid any illness. I might stay masked up even if they things are safe now.

Good for you, I'm also totally vaxxed and boosted, and will get another vaccine if recommended. I don't take annual flu shots anymore, that may change in the future. I would like to get a pneumonia vaccine though and I have had a shingles shot.

You're wise to try and avoid any illnesses, I also continued to wash my hands more often and I have sanitizer in all my vehicles. I always have a mask in my pocket, but I don't wear it every time I go out. It's been a very long since I've been sick, even with a cold, so I'd like to keep it that way.....same with my husband who doesn't go out as often as I do.

Since the covid 19 "vaccine" debacle there has been some conversation on social media regarding how people will feel going forward about ALL vaccines. I know we're seniors and have had most of our vaccines already as children so it may be a non issue. But, how will you feel in the future about vaccines being pushed at you? Despite the admitted failure of the covid vaccine to prevent transmission, this same vaccine is on the recommended list for the future for children.

I think I will continue to avoid vaccines unless there is an overwhelming reason not to.
As a child, I had no choice in the matter...as an adult, I now have a choice. Seems like the mandate goes back and forth depending on what day it is...:p I am sure it will all come together for everyone's benefit at some point...I sure hope so.

Yes, I will continue to be vaccinated as recommended by medical professionals. I'm 65, fit and healthy according to my latest physical. I exercise 5 times a week.

My boss had shingles in his 50s and according to him it was one of the most debilitating and painful experiences ever, so I had the shingles vaccine a few years ago. I had the first strain of Covid in March 2020, and when the chills and fever were gone the coughing and congestion lasted for months. So, yes when the vaccine was introduced I got two shots and two boosters. I've since gotten it twice since, but the symptoms have been very minor. I'd heard the flu season was going to be severe this winter, so I got the flu vaccine.

IMHO there was no vaccine debacle. The only debacle was the way each side chose to accept and interpret it. It is very unfortunate the way opinions re: Covid and the vaccine divided our country. These days I've adopted a "live and let live" (or die) attitude. People choose their own destinies based on where they feel they are in life and in the health spectrum. What makes sense for me may not make sense for you.

My friends who were vaccinated got covid too. It was kind of a useless "vaccine". More like an experimental drug and everyone who took it was the experiment. It's unethical.
We've done much worse than that:
40 Years of Human Experimentation in America: The Tuskegee Study. The goal was to “observe the natural history of untreated syphilis” in black populations, but the subjects were completely unaware and were instead told they were receiving treatment for bad blood when in fact, they received no treatment at all.

I think they're not exactly mad at the unvaccinated. They're taking it out on the unvaccinated because they're frustrated & angry at themselves for buying into the fear, lies & B.S. we were all given.
My nephew was so angry at me, he insulted me because I chose not to be vaccinated. He gave me the same robotic B.S. he was fed & he accepted it - that the vaccine protects & those who don't get it are selfish & inconsiderate because they're making others sick.

BUT, after his whole family (all vaccinated & boosted) got Covid - his two kids, his wife, & his father & mother in law - some very ill, he got so angry, he wouldn't speak to me. Why? He was all ready to tell me, "See? Told ya so. Unlike you, we're all smart enough to be protected by the vaccine."
His anger is due to his disappointment at not being able to gloat over it.

I find it sad that family and friends do not have enough respect and compassion for each other. No one is wrong, you do what you feel is right for you and your family. There is no reason to fight about it. I don't feel any way about anyone, vaxed or not, it is a choice, like many we face everyday.
