Using the Ignore Option

I don't have anyone on "ignore"....I am grown up you see... and... can
handle people's foibles.

I am amazed at the lack of maturity when some people blame others for their
not being able to face a situation.
When I see a post by a whinger...I skip it at great speed :ROFLMAO:
I don't have anyone on ignore, for the same reason....who cares?
It is the whingers and constant negative posts that I don't give any weight to.

Meh. It's not a matter of "growing up"; that's a little too blamey for me.

I figure: I'm old. Why should I waste my time reading stuff I'm not interested in?
Good point. It can also be used to ignore people who post mostly drivel, not just people who are offensive.

thats not nice dave....maybe the posters dont realise its drivel...not everyone can be good with their words
If someone is on ignore, they wouldn't even know it unless they are told they are on ignore. Telling them they post drivel might be rude, but not being interested in them is not. Ignore seems like a quiet way to avoid making an issue out of what is mostly a non-issue.

Someone has me on ignore and has bragged about it because I took her post the wrong way. I even apologized when she clarified the meaning. I don't feel hurt nor punished by it, but instead I realize that she is one of the angry people this world has made with little forgiveness left. I don't have her on ignore. I don't have anyone on ignore.

Just quietly self-ignoring a person without a big public show of it makes more sense to me in a friendly adult-like forum.
Self control, being slow to anger, communication, and being humble (since we all make mistakes) is a better option.

When there is a trouble-maker in our midst, simply don't read their post.
Avatars are quite large and makes it easy to see them without reading their posts.

I'm much too nosy.... uh, "curious" sounds better :giggle: to put anyone on ignore because I'd be afraid I'll miss something.
(I just realized I gave the same answer here on Feb 12... I thought this was someone else asking the same question... at least I'm consistent!)
It's much easier to just scroll past the posts of those you know are volatile.

Well ... I didn't until today...and believe me, I am not in the least curious what these have to say :D
They really have nothing of interest to say....
