Hey, how's it going today for you? It's 2023. An alternate thread for different people.

I have been struggling with some difficult challenges recently, while repeatedly trying to find ways to hang on to some positive thinking. I come to SF often, and it does help my days and sometimes, my nights, too.
My thanks to all who participate.

My sense of humor seems to be what is helping me most, these days.

I put an offer in on a mobile in a park yesterday. She's not going to take it as it's under her asking which my agent says is overpriced. The listing agent is in the same office and my agent says the listing agent agrees it's too much but that's what the seller wanted to start at. She's lowered it six grand since the listing but my offer is apparently the first and she supposedly has to move out of the area for some reason. Wondering what her counter will be? And it's expensive.

Hey, @Ruthanne , how different do you have to be to post here? And, is there a test or something? ;)

My phone woke me up way earlier than usual this morning. It wasn't even 7 yet and I got 2 texts from Fed-Ex, one from Walmart, and a call from some scammer. πŸ˜’

Hello different people! I hope today finds you all doing well and as happy as though you had good sense! πŸ˜‚ Now, that's not an insult. My grandma used to say that about all kinds of things and for some reason it came back to me this morning just as I got here.

It's snowing again! It looks like about 4-5 inches on the deck railing so far. ❄️❄️ The wind is blowing and it's hard to see out the front windows. The snow is wet and sticking to the screens and even the glass. I am always so thankful that I don't have to go anywhere when it snows and the roads are bad. A neighbor already texted and said he will clear the walks when it's over so I don't have to be calling around today.

Yes, I am from Montana. We've had an unusually cold winter this year, but this week it's been nice. It's close to 50 right now. Same here about looking forward to spring!

Beth, it is so pretty in Montana. We got to spend a week in Glacier and around it many years ago. We always intended to go back but there were so many places to go and so little time. I hope you are doing well today. 🌺

You are a ray of sunshine here Kaila. 🌞 I know things go up and down and I hope today is an up day for you.

Now, that is exciting. Is there any news on your offer yet?

They haven't thrown me out yet so you're probably safe.

You never know, if she is ready to be done and move on you might get a great deal. If she counters, just make sure you don't spend more than you can afford or if you think it is not a good buy. The market here in Texas is starting to shift down except in the Austin area.

Thank you for asking @Myrtle The sellers counter was unworkable for me. My agent continues to state it's overpriced. So I'm just letting my offer sit. Perhaps someone will buy it at her price but so far no. If it were in the park I like best, I might negotiate more. But the park it's in is senior only but there are people also living there in travel trailers.

That sounds like a good strategy to me. If no one will meet her price she may decide your offer looks better than she first thought. Good luck!

I had a friend who lived in a senior park here for many years. She had good neighbors and really enjoyed it. It can be a very good way for seniors to live.

My day began quite rough, today, after a rough night and a rough yesterday... and a rough....:rolleyes::confused:

(See a pattern, here?β˜ΊοΈπŸ˜‰)

But I did a bit of writing, this morning, and I managed to pull myself together (somewhat!)
At least enough, for you to vaguely recognize me πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜„

After identifying the stressors, and then, what I could and could not do about them, I was able to feel much better.

And it also helps to come here and interact with all of you. 🀩

It's 14Β°F and snowing heavily right now. Bleh. Enough with the winter weather already.
It's not any better here, Ben. I can't tell how much snow we have anymore because we have 25 mph wind gusts and it's snowing sideways and currently 11 degrees. We really need moisture. The only thing, I think it's a dry snow so who knows how much it will help.

On the other hand, we have power, it's warm in here and I don't have to go out. :giggle: I should make soup.

Wondering a situation with questions...

I find that while on the forum here, if I put it down with the square button on tablet and go grab an image on browser, when I come back to complete my posts, I find myself kicked out and having to sign on again...

What's going on... It's weird, yes?

It's a good day for soup. I'm making some comfort food for dinner... chicken parmesan.

I have no idea about that. :)
But if you don't get any ideas about it, from posters on this thread, you could ask in the section of the forum called Computers. Perhaps start a thread about it, there.:geek:
Or perhaps ask on the General Discussion section, with a new thread , there.🀩
Just my suggestion for how you might find out about it.

Not answering for Ruthanne....but... you have to give lots of hugs accompanied by chocs....I like chocolate covered hazelnuts!!

Ah, the last couple/three days have been interesting....

Went to interview for my job and do the necessary paperwork/computer form stuff to complete hiring process for part time hospice RN job. There's times I just shake my head and say, "Can't we just go back to paper forms?!" Filling out tax forms on a computer is a mine field. Then they insist I show them my diploma from nursing school-- say what?? No other organization has ever asked for that (I graduated in 2005) and so I've had to contact the college to get verification I graduated emailed to them. Which Is Crazy b/c you can't even TAKE your nurse boards (test to be licensed) unless you've graduated from nursing school. Sigh.

Then I come back to hometown and have to address some family issues + discuss with sons and decide what to do about the current yardwork situation. A hired team comes in 2x/month during growing season and mows. I've just become fully aware that that is ALL that is included in the monthly base amount I pay; you want the hedges trimmed, it's a separate fee. You want old plants torn out and new ones planted, that's a separate fee. Etc, etc. Yeah, I think we're going to take the yard work back. I have two able-bodied males available who are willing and that will save $130 a month.

And last but not least, my social security payment is AWOL again; when I called about not getting anything in January, they had a reason (convoluted to me) but assured me my monthly payment would be in my acct. each month here on out. So far in February, NADA. I fixin' to light a fire under someone!

At least (as I mentioned earlier) I found my glasses so that has been a happy thing! Daffodils/bulbs are blooming and some of the trees are trying to put out leaves. The weather's been nice enough for a walk most days and I'm trying to take advantage of that. I hope y'all have a good rest-of-the-week

That sure does not sound like a relaxing retirement week, @CinnamonSugar
And it's awful that there is some worse snag involved with your check, o_O which they have not cleared up.
And that the outdoor crew limits what they do, to that extent.

I hope things get on a more even keel for you, soon. At least you have your old familiar eyeglasses back.πŸ€“
And those 2 sons, too. 😎😎

And wait, daffodils are blooming?
That possibly makes up for a lot!☺️

I thought of @CinnamonSugar
and her above post, this morning;
when peering out my window, at the dark soil, newly made visible, from the shrinking of the snowcover, here in the Northeast USA.

And yes, I could decipher a few green specks poking up, which are surely daffodils, as they and the crocus will be the first intrepid bulbs to sprout forth.:giggle:

I tried to imagine the ones, in the South, already with buds or blooms. Such a big difference, but welcome either way!

Today, I am still reeling, from my past week of difficulties, but am doing okay, focusing on the basics, and on slowly recovering myself. Thanks to all here, for the warm, positive wishes. And sending some, back to you!

Oh dear, I agree that the diploma demand doesn't make sense but sometimes it's just easier to go along than to try to explain why they are illogical. It looks like your sons' help with the yard and finding your glasses are good positive notes. :giggle:

Kaila, it sounds like you are gaining ground and that is a very good thing. Little steps add up and become giant gains. πŸŒ»β˜€οΈπŸ’

My morning started with a computer struggle or I should say mouse struggle. My mouse simply quit working suddenly so I'm struggling to find another mouse, which I did. I found 2, but I had a deadline and was pushing it. The mice were wireless and not connecting to the computer. I couldn't figure out why until it finally dawned on me that I hadn't used them for a long time and they probably needed a battery. 😀

I put in new batteries and one mouse worked. But by then I'm late and I had to ask for grace and a time delay. Eventually, I got it all together and was only about 5-6 minutes late but still frustrated. Once the debacle was over I looked at the original mouse again and discovered I had turned it off. There was nothing wrong with it at all. I had accidentally slid the slider to off. It's not good starting the morning with problems but it's even worse when the entire problem is self induced, but now it's over and I can laugh at myself. πŸ˜‚ It's ok if you guys laugh at me too.

We are still frozen over here but the sun is out, we have double digits, 23 degrees, the snow shoveler is coming eventually and things are looking up. 🌞

Here's wishing you all a very good day. :)

And I'm trying to think of something... *anything* that I wouldn't like dipped in or covered with chocolate!
