Jeez what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to Deceive... looks like one of the biggest and most influential families in Lowcountry SC have had their murky hidden lifestyle blown apart now with his arrest ... ..even if he's found not guilty of his wife and son's murder.. there are other unexplained deaths connected to him and his family in recent times , as well as the millions of dollars of fraud, and deception..

I've been watching some of the trial, just in bits and pieces. Yesterday, Alex cried in court when the person from the coroner's office explained exactly how which bullet went where in his wife's body.

yes I've watched him sob his way through this trial, and manically chew sweets as well. I felt sorry for him at one point , then I read his background history.. wow !! What a piece of work !!

If I only saw the trial I would doubt someone could do this to his wife and child. However, knowing he was embezzling from friends and colleagues all those years tells me he has a dark side. The lawsuits as a result of his son's antics and the embezzling being uncovered, his father dying, drug addiction.......
Maybe he slowly darkened more and more until he absolutely thought he could kill his wife and son and think he could get away with it.
I don't understand it since he would still be financially ruined and go to jail.
It's going to be a great documentary though.

that's my thoughts entirely... i was the same, feeling sorry for him thinking he seemed like a nice guy, a gentle soul.. loved his family.. until I found out about his background, and his family's history.. and I thought..*Yikes*... I'm still wondering however how he didn't get any blood spatter or gunshot residue on him if he shot them...that's a puzzle...

He did. I believe they found gunshot residue and infinitesimal spray of blood on this shirt. They had to dip it into some chemical (I forgot the name of) to find those traces.

Oh really, I must have missed that because the last I heard they couldn't find any on him, at all, even tho' they found the clothes he changed into that day... ..but if they did and it was tiny it wouldn't make any sense for the person who was the killer, because according to todays' Blood, footprint, and gun splatter expert.. the spray of blood and brains.. hit every direction.. as we saw on one of the doors.. :(.. so it would have been in the killers hair, and everywhere.. . I can't personally see how someone else killed them.. just too convenient.. but by the same token.. I cannot understand how Alex did it ... . The expert said someone who was shorter than Paul was the killer due to the trajectory of the shots and the wounds.. Paul was 5.8 or less.. Alex is 6ft 5''.. and if he did it he'd have to be crouched so low on the floor, it would make the gun too difficult to aim properly, especially in the speed it would have been done..

That all said.. they said Paul showed no defensive wounds... he was completely relaxed when he was shot, so the killer was likely someone he knew.. or so unexpected he didn't see it coming...which IMO if Alex .. didn't do it, ..and despite his lies about not being at the kennels at the same time as his wife and son..the only other hypothesis is that he hired a hit man..

i still Question WHY did he change his clothes??? and the wife had dementia ? And yet she went to the Dr, appt. by herself?
unless i miss understood that part of his testimony.. just seemed odd to me,,

She didn't have dementia.. ! Her sister said she was as Happy as it was possible to be with Alex, but that he'd had an affair 15 years ago, and she'd never really got over it, plus he was using illegal drugs which caused some consternation.. but she was happy in her marriage other than that, and adored her dogs..

ETA I personally think she knew nothing of his financial corruption... and he was due to have to pay a Million and a Half to the Beach family for the eath of Mallory Beach ..on behalf of his son Paul, but he knew if Paul was dead they couldn;t claim any money from his easte.. so arranging a killing to make it look and sound like it was someone who hated Paul for the death of Mallory Beach could have been an idea he thought he would get away with.. and killing his wife, would not only mean he would get a Huge Insurance payout , she wouldn't find out about the corruption with regard all the money his company stole, and the fact he'd been sacked from his job..

I read Maggie had her nails done earlier that day, therefore it's curious why there was unknown DNA found under her nails. But, someone else explained that could happen in various innocent ways; grabbing something, doorknobs, etc.

Blood on Alex's steering wheel. I couldn't find an answer to that.

well of course they could explain that away by saying he touched his wife or son..or even a door in the kennels when he ''found'' them..

Well, it's hard to refute the evidence put forward by the state and it looks like He's banged to rights, and he did in fact Murder his own wife and son...

I was astonished at the Evidence given by the phone and GPS expert .. far more than just Pinging off a tower, now they can tell precisely when , where , and even how many steps a person was taking , and in what direction using phone data.. and his car , and Maggie's car gave them so much info too, even when they were parked up...

I still think it's possible he got someone else to kill them even tho' he was there at the time of the killing.. I just can't see how there could be no blood spatter on him at all.. and also how he could possibly have used 2 separate guns in the space of a few seconds .. without one of the 2 of them being able to at least try and escape

Apparently the Defence are bringing in a last witness on Tuesday.. so it'll be interesting to see who this might be...

.. but what utter Madness.. I kept looking at Murdough, and thinking.. you've killed your wife and son..and thrown your freedom away forever, never to do another normal thing again in your life.. for the sake of drugs and the love of money

I hope if he gets convicted he'll fess up and tell exactly how he did it..

Luminol. It detects blood even when the blood is diluted 10,000 times. It indicates blood with a blue color, even after it's been washed away:

..and they didn't find any on his clothes , in his house, in his bathroom or shower.. . they found some gunshot residue on the tarp in his car, but he often hunted so they couldn't prove that it was anything to do with the killings

One of the worst things in my life happened to me in Walterboro, SC right before my 16th birthday. It is a sick society down there, even if it's not like that anymore it was like that and the poison is still in their atmosphere. Evil.

Wow, sorry to hear that pepper... but how do you mean about a sick society ?.. There's definitely something wrong with this Alex Murdough, altho' initially he comes off as a decent family man. One of his closest friends and colleagues said AM was a man who was a people person...a and witnesses said they never saw him raise his voice in any way to his family... yet for years drug addiction, corruption and goodness knows what else was going on...

I'm too tired to tell my story now, but I will. I once told it on "another" forum and several women tried to make excuses for what happened to me, even going so far as to say I "misunderstood."

5 weeks.. that's how long it's been going on🙄
I think if your innocent you want to have it go on as long as possible until someone proves you're not guilty.. or conversely if you're guilty it keeps you out of your prison cell every day for weeks..

It wouldn't have gone on as long IMO if the State hadn't brought in all the Fraud and corruption etc.. which is debatable as to whether that had anything whatsoever to do with the murders of his wife and son... so that took up a a huge part of the case.

Now the defence have brought in a Counter expert to the States expert.. who says there's no way Murdough could have fired the guns... 2 separate guns

Goodness knows what the outcome of this will be.. but I think guilty or not, the issue of the Drug addiction and the corruption will sway the jury to a guilty verdict..

I can see and hear he's a complete POS, he stole millions from people.. and even stole the Insurance payout from the children of his housekeeper when she died suspiciously at his house....but I would hate to see him go to prison for murder if he didn't do it. That would be a terrible price to pay for losing your family..
