What have you bought recently?

Could you have the cobbler dye it a dark colour that might not show the spots.
Cobblers here Jules, are extortionately expensive, and therefore it would cost me a fortune to have it dyed, but it's an idea I'd never thought of... (y).

The traditional cobblers now are extremely hard to find, we're basically left with the chain.she repair and key cutting shops. My grandfather & grandfather would be turning in their graves.. they all were cobblers from as far back as I know...

I actually like leather bags when they are a bit worn and battered looking.

If you look on www.StuartsLondon.com they also have a leather cleaner & sponge (£18) which you probably could use and maybe use a soft toothbrush on any stubborn stains. Stuarts are good and they have a contact us link so you could perhaps email them for advice on cleaning lamb's leather.

Thanks for that Trish. It's not that my new Lambs leather bag is battered and worn.. it's badly stained by rain or snow or whatever.. and it looks terrible after just a couple of outings. Yes I could use a cleaner, but at £18 a shot, it would be very expensive to clean it, only to have it get stained again next time I go out, but thanks for the link.. I'll keep that under my belt for other things potentially..

New Distance Specs... last March I bought 2 pairs of specs.. reading glasses and Computer glasses...they cost me well over £400 at the Opticians ... I have 2 pairs of reading specs, and I keep one pair in my bag to use when I'm out, and one pair at home .. but I only have one pair of distance specs which I use to watch TV.. or for driving at night or in bad weather. I never like to just have one pair of specs.. and I don't want to pay the huge cost of Last March, so I've ordered them online. Mine costs a lot instore.. because I have a high prescription, and the lenses thinned as much as possible.. but even choosing to have the lenses thinned with the Online store.. they're just going to cost me £65..

A new burner for my stove. One of the big ones.
And, the silver rimmed thing it sits in.

I'm always spilling things over in to the rimmed thing, making a mess.
They were both reasonably priced at the appliance store close by.

Also, picked up a couple of scratchers and lotto tickets. 🤞

Oh can you let us know if you are happy with your new glasses? I should have an eye test soon and will likely need new glasses. Like you, I use a pair for reading/computer and a pair for watching tv. Glasses are really expensive.

I can tell you now Trish, because I bought Distance glasses from them 3 years ago.. and they're still going strong, and unlike Specsavers , where I pay to have Non scratch lenses ( and they do scratch quite easily and quickly ) .. these lenses have not scratched at all after 3 years of wear.. . they're still as good as new. The glass is very clear and the frames seem to be of a higher quality than Specsavers

The reason I didn't get my reading and computer specs from them last March is because I was getting the computer specs for the first time, and I needed an eye test as well.. but after paying well over £400 and that was 2 for the price of one.. I decided that where possible I won't buy again from the opticians

I bought a case of Zevia gingerale from Amazon. Besides groceries I bought parchment paper which I consider part of the groceries even though it is technically not food. Can't eat it. None of this counts on my "no spend" February since it is groceries.
How is the ginger ale katlupe? I tried the cream soda and it was too sweet.

Bought a Type S Car Battery Charger these today.

We were at a dog park today ready to go homex when the car once more would not start. So there was a Costco store about a mile away so I went there looking for something of the sort and found this. We had already called road service but were told it would be 90 minutes to an hour. Fortunately they came sooner and I saw the guy in the parking lot as I was heading back to the car. He offered me a lift but I told him my wife was at the car and to go ahead and check it out. Good thing because the battery was bad and one we’d bought from them and barely still covered by their warranty. So we got a new car battery out of it.

Not at all sorry about buying this though. It is amazing how such a compact thing can pack enough juice to turn over an engine. Plus it will be back up power for charging phones and such on trips.

I bought one about a year ago, different brand. It has saved me more once. I have an older car, I seem to like to leave my lights on! LOL

Yeah old cars are a drag. My 2006 Suburu Foerster just refuses to die. But it is neither nice nor reliable and it leaks oil on my paver driveway. I’m going to get a hybrid Toyota RAV4 to become the new dog carting vehicle. We rented one for a week long trip to Los Angeles just before lock down and liked everything about it: good mileage, plenty of power and roomy.

I BOUGHT SOMETHING !!!!!!!!!
This is becoming a bad habit.
Had one of these and another one which was so light and flimsy…..so I got 2 more of these.
I only use the dryer for briefs and towels.
So now I have 3 good ones.
Bathroom in my future suite is huge, so I’ll use them in there……or when it’s nice out, on the balcony or walk out patio.
There we’re only $36.00 each from Walmart.32F6B03F-B390-460B-BDE4-204346898C1A.jpeg

I like it. Ginger ale was always my favorite soda back before keto. I like the Dr. Zevia (Dr. Pepper) too. I was buying the rainbow variety case just to see what flavors I liked best. There are a few others I like too.
Same here... about a year ago they had the sampler of 24 cans for $13.something and I bought a few of them. We actually liked most of the flavors. I'll have to check on the current price... with all this inflation, I'm not expecting good results. Okay, I just looked... $15.18 today so not as bad as I expected. I think I'll order it!

Darned birds need to get jobs to pay for their keep. I'm starting a bird school first week of March to teach them some marketable skills. A 40 lb sack of feed was $20! The reason I'm waiting to start the school is so that they can pass the word around next week during our county's winter break from school.

Maybe they could deliver Howlers like Harry Potter's owl, Hedwig.

I think I should try the sampler.
