What have you bought recently?

funny you should ask Jules, because a paper copy of the renwal came through the other day, which was great because it not only let me know who we were insured by, but whose name is on the policy, and it's in both names !
That's good. Is it too late to report the damage to the barn?

Phew. Now you can get that double name issue changed. If something happened to the house and you, he’d collect all the money. Grrr.

no not too late.. in fact we're being warned that next week we're to potentially get more snow and ice.. so if so, I'll wait for that to do it's worst .. before deciding whether to make a claim. Gotta remember that it may not cost as much to repair it as the Excess... which is £200 .. so I'll wait for the worst weather to be over and see where I stand with that roof..

It was such a lovely day yesterday, I had hoped we'd be putting our boots and coats away soon :(

Got two 60-watt Dimmable Battery Backup Light bulbs.

Springs heading our way which means a few power outages from storms.
Put them in a table lamp in the bedroom and the other in a floor lamp by the kitchen.

Battery kicks in when power is lost and gives me a 'path'.
Nice extra is the sliding light settings to match the room.
You can unscrew it and use as a flashlight (Torch), just cup the base in the palm of your hand.

What will they think of next...

The kids who're coming to the party probably won't have much 70s garb. Don't want anyone who doesn't come in 70 garb to feel left out so I bought light up flower crowns and hippie glasses:

you're such a great mama, wife, grandma aunt, sister, friend... I'm sure everyone is going to have the greatest time..

Just received from Amazon, at a $13 half off discount, a common style Casio black digital wristwatch. Immediately took a pair of scissors to the black wrist band to make it a small pocket watch since I don't want anything on my wrists. Being small and in pockets, easy to eventually lose, so cheap is appropriate. Also don't tend to carry around a smartphone that otherwise shows time.

it's funny, I always wear a wristwatch despite having had smart phones for many years.. and I don't remember ever using my phone to look at the time. Conversely my almost 47 year old daughter gave up on watches many years ago, and only uses her phone to see the time
