I found a pup on Craig's List one year ago that I wanted to buy. He was located 200 miles away, and when I tried to set up a time to check him out, the woman became evasive. I asked for her address so I could find her, and she said there would be a $100 deposit. I told her I would need her phone number so I could call to let her know I was on the way, and she told me they accepted money by Zelle, (which is not a way to send money to strangers). I got nervous, and talked to a neighbor who went to work and found pictures of the litter, which had been lifted from another site. Craig's List dropped the ad.
Don't take it personally, there are scammers out there, scamming for a living, and people are rightfully cautious.
