What's for dinner ( or lunch )

Mama went to the store to pick up a few things this morning while I was out back trying to straighten up the storage shed and as I was helping her put things up I spied a can of Honey Boy pink salmon and in this house that can only mean one thing.......I'm getting me some salmon patties and fried taters for supper tonight !

Made this this morning. Been cooking all day and I’m ready to gob it down along with biscuits. There’s lots of chicken on bottom. I just hadn’t mixed it up yet.

Looks good. I have often seen American posters refer to biscuits, what are they? In the UK biscuits are sweet and you usually have them with a cup of tea or coffee as a snack. :)

Thank you, I don't know if we have something similar here. I don't recall seeing it. Not sure if it would be my cup of tea but you never know until you try.
No, it isn't everyone's cuppa. I grew up on pan-fried liver, ox(beef), pork or sometimes veal. Having lifetime iron deficiency, liver was the meat portion besides beef, pork and lamb.

Having dug wild edible mushrooms with my father, I just love them (cream of mushroom soup, comes to mind, got to add it to groceries list)

I guess most of the quirky things I eat makes people feel sick 🤢 but it's survival at the end of the day. Good luck!

Pork and cheese sausage roll. and Colcannon...

Main meal lunch today.

Couldn't pass up a bargain of $1.79 a lb. for a rack of baby back ribs. Wife makes a great rib sauce. So dry rub to preseason the ribs. Place them on a rack in the pressure cooker, pressure cook for 20 minutes.

While those are getting tenderized, the go with is potato salad. Price a few weeks back was $2.50 for a 10lb. bag of russet potatoes.

Turn the broiler on in the oven, coat the ribs with the sauce & broil until the sauce sets up on the ribs.

Meanwhile setting the table, serving the potato salad & the timing is perfect to have a picnic indoors.

I will buy a bargain whenever I see one. Meanwhile the bone in N Y strip steak I bought as a roast in December is up pretty soon as NY stip steaks on the BQ. The roast yeilded 8 N Y strips since I asked the butcher at Smiths to slice the roast for me. At Christmas the roasts were selling for $3.49 a lb.

Yep, you guys know how to do it even with inflation. That is what I have been teaching the kids, you do not have to go without, suffer. You just need to plan, buy on sale and freeze or add to the pantry.

WOW! At that price, I'd be filling my freezer. I'm dancing in the street if I can get baby back ribs on sale for $3.99/lb.
