My husband is a Corvette person. We both love a sport car. However, I had difficulty getting out of it, lol! And on long trips, my back hurt. So now we drive a Genesis. It is a sedan, quite comfortable and quiet and it has some "pep" as well. It was a good compromise.

My car is a used van. I'd classify it as an old soccer mom's car.

I've been driving a Mazda 3 for the last ten years, car suits me well, not a lot of bells and whistles,

I drive a 2008 Hyundai Elantra. It was my husband's aunt's and we purchased it from the estate when she died. Was not I car I wanted but has proved to be a good vehicle.
It had 20M miles when we got it in 2009. Now in 2023, it only has 43M miles. Yep, I do not go far or go often. Would make a lot of people crazy, I just see a car that has air conditioning, gets me from point A to B. It is or I am fuel effecient, I only fill up about 4 times a year.
When I was young, teenager, or early 20's I cared about cars, I had to have a good looking car. At that age we are all caught up, doing the best to be impressive, in our look, clothing, cars. Thank God that is over.
Funny, I keep dreaming about that 73 ford pinto, white with a tan vinyl top and interior, 4 speed. I would love to have that little car again!!

Errr… yes & no.
I have silver Skoda Octavia 1.9 Diesel that I use mostly. There was a time when I would say I wouldn’t be seen dead in a Skoda, but Volkswagen took them over in the early 1990’s. These days a Skoda is just a Volkswagen in a different frock – different exterior panels & interior. The rest of the car is very much a Volkswagen. I used it mostly to go back & forth from work due to its good fuel consumption. 55 to 60 mpg.

My other car is a red Toyota MR2 Mk2 T-bar. (engine in the back) It’s really fun to drive, especially since lowering & stiffening the suspension. I put larger wheels and soft tyres on it. I would say the tyres now outperform the engine. It’s great for practicing my heal & toe technique.

Then my other car is a black BMW Z4 E89. I had a short list of a Z4 or a Porsche Cayman. My heart was set on the Cayman at first, but when I looked at them side-by-side, I chose the Z4. I took the run-flat tyres off it & put Michelin Pilot Super-sports on it. In my mind the tyres transformed the car

The right tires can make a huge difference in overall performance, especially if you go to an all out track focused tire. It can be like night and day. Some will put a small fortune in the engine, and never get the power to the ground because of poorly suited tires.

I recommended one of these to a friend of a friend, who wanted something Italian but no along the lines of a Ferrari, or Lamborghini. He bought one, eventually.

I think mine is an old person's car for the simply reason that I can slide in easily and step out with little effort. My son has a two-seat car (don't recall the brand at the moment) and the last time I was in it about 4 years ago, I said never again. Why? because I have to go too low to get in and getting out requires effort. It's like the car loves me so much, it doesn't want me to leave.
Anyway, my Honda CRV that I bought new way back when, will turn 18 years old in about 6 months. I think it has about 136K miles. Such a great feeling that I didn't have to pay monthly notes all those years. Well built and reliable. Only expenses have been routine maintenance.

exactly that's like my o/h's Maserati.. it's very low .. and so difficult to get in and out of.. and I'm realtively agile. Also the back seat is so tiny.. no-one could sit there in comfort. I suppose cuz it's a sports car it's really not meant to have back seat passengers. Also the door is so heavy to open, and so wide.. we have to make sure there's no kerb or any nearby vehicle before we open the door..I think mine is an old person's car for the simply reason that I can slide in easily and step out with little effort. Not sure what "old persons car" would be.
We have the toy's, (57 chevy and 2000 Z-28 Camaro), but we also have what I call the work horses. The 99 Suzuki gets all the dirty jobs and usually hauls a 4x8 trailer loaded with all kinds of crap. The 06 Trailblazer carries us in air conditioned comfort along with up to 4-5 extra people when needed. Plus it can also pull a fair sized trailer or boat when necessary.

I drive a 20 yr old VW Beetle w/over 88,000 miles on it.
It's garaged and still in pretty good shape.
Just a few scratches from running in to curbs and things.
It should last me another 20..

Right now, I can't count my diesel truck. It sits in Arkansas on my land there along with my other motor home.. Thinking about selling it and the trailers now that I'm out of the cattle business.
