Anyone following the Alex Murdaugh trial in SC ?

⬆️picturing Richard Gere from "Chicago".."Razzle, Dazzle 'em"😂🤣

O.K...let's start...how long do you think the jury will take..🙄?
to come to a decision🤔

He's in his own bought & paid for stomping ground. I hope he is convicted, but I see hung jury, if it's still the same Walterboro SC I met when I was 15 about to be 16. Evil place.
I wish you would tell us more pepper.. The courthouse has his grandfather's picture hanging on the wall, it had to be removed for this trial...

One of the major problems with this trial is that the prosecution are very un-likeable.... I know it shouldn't matter but it really does. If the jury don't like the prosecution, they're more likely to not really listen intently to what they're saying..

I don't think so because when she was questioned by the Sled agents..yep the same agency who are involved in the trial.. she denied it... and then she was brought in front of the judge last night, and she continued to deny it.. then Sled got hold of some recordings that proved she had... so clearly if she wanted to be off the trial she wouldn't have denied it.. IMO>.
Who ratted her out?

We are not really following it, we just saw a few minutes of his testimony. My only impression was that he probably did it, but they have a very weak motive! And the timeline they are trying to sell sounds real sketchy. I think he will get away with it....but he will lose to the folks who are waiting to sue him!

The timeline is pretty spot on.. thanks to record held on smart phones, and also calls he made at certain times... and he lied about being there when in fact unbeknown to him his son had recorded him being there at that precise time.. He stuck to his story about not being anywhere near the kennels around the time they were killed, until confronted by the recording, then he changed his story and said he'd gone off to do something else and in that short time they were killed.. ! yep ok..

The real problem with this case is there is no proof.. they never found blood spatter on him, or the clothes he was wearing or in fact a set of clothes he'd been seen wearing .. ( again on his son's phone).. earlier in the day which they believe were the clothes he was wearing when he killed them

They've never found the guns either, altho' they knew he owned those guns.. so with all of that.. everyone knows he did it.. but proving it is another thing. However the jury only have to believe he did it, and he's found guilty.. but if only one of them decides they need proof.. then he's getting off

What is all the more puzzling to me is how the rest of his family, who are all lawyers themselves or have been to law school, can believe this cock and bull story... just very weird.. if I was his family I'd be moving to another country in case he decided I'm next for the end of a shotgun..

@Timewise 60+ Weak motive? Surely you jest! He wanted to make sure that his favorite, Buster, would have plenty of $$ from the life insurance proceeds. But no matter, when he's acquitted, he'll get the money and need it to pay his lawyers. Doubtful there will be any left over but if there is, restitution for his money crimes will eat it up.

He'll walk but only back to his cell to await trial for all his other crimes.

He has shamed his family who, for two generations were pillars of their community, doing good works, creating a legacy for their heirs.

He's a disgusting piece of work.

What if..........
Alex got involved with a cartel years ago and it turned into stealing and laundering money for them as they threatened his family.
People are asking what happened to all the money. People very close to him are saying he never appeared to have a drug problem let alone one that would require the amounts of money unaccounted for.

What if........
When Paul was involved in the boat accident Alex was desperate to blame it on the friend because the cartel considered the money lost in a lawsuit would jeopardize their income and they were not happy.

What was if......
When his company discovered his thefts it was all too much and Alex was going to spill it all including his involvement with the cartel. Maybe he wanted to be free from all of it. Maybe he did ask cousin Eddie to kill him but Eddie knew the cartel would not want him to kill their moneymaker and best customer. Maybe they wrestled and Alex was grazed.

What if.........
The night Alex left to go to his parents house he drove down the road and soon after a car pulled in to the kennels. Paul was shot by someone in the front passengers side. Maggie screamed and threw her phone at that person and it landed inside the car. She ran and the car followed and someone in the back passenger seat shot her.
They left out the back entrance and threw Maggie's phone out the window.
It was raining when the police got to the house.

What if.....
When Alex came home he realized the cartel sent him a message and he could fight the charge he was set up for but if he implicated the cartel Buster and the rest of his family would be next.

Oh, nevermind....guilty.

Well, finally, and thank God for common sense. Can you believe I've stuck to this trial for weeks, and tonight when they went off to deliberate, I thought it was safe to go and have a shower, because they wouldn't be coming back tonight.. lol

When I got out of the shower and saw you all talking about the verdict, I had to dash to the TV and do a live Rewind, to see it all go down..

One thing is puzzling me. The Judge even right to the last minute of addressing the jury stated that the court had gone to great lengths to protect the Jury's anonymity, and if after tonight they want to speak about the case they can.. and if not and they are 'somehow' found by reporters, and don't want to speak about it, and are harassed.. the judge himself will deal with that for them.

..However.. did we get a big boo-boo moment, because as they led AM away he walked right past the jury and we could see everyone of their faces..

The judge refused the motion for a mistrial by AM lawyers.. I just wonder if seeing the Jury as we did.. before they were formally dismissed from duty will create a problem..

I just wanted to add...that I thought Creighton Waters closing arguments were really powerful,
and I guess the jury did too.
