A box was a boat, a plane, a car. Our imagination supplied all we needed.I wonder what it was that fascinated kids about Cardboard boxes.. we never got anything new when I was a kid so no cardboard boxes.. but we'd find something when we were out playing and make it into a fort or a shop or a dolls house.. outside..
Even, my own daughter who had more toys than a toyshop at some stages in her life.. enjoyed a Cardboard box and a wooden spoon
We did that too, caroln. Also for night stands and shelving for lightweight items. That was before we had the $$ to afford the old student standard "bricks & boards".When I got my first apartment I used cardboard boxes for end tables.![]()
I was talking to my neighbor a few weeks ago and I asked him when was the last time you saw a kid climbing a tree? For me, itās been years. When I was a kid, we would bet one another āI bet you canāt climb that tree?ā Iād tell them to give me a boost, so I could grab the first limb and then up I would go with no fear.We shot down many enemy planes during WWII from certain "perches" in the backyard apple trees.
True love right there! The boy next door, Bobby, asked me to marry him so I made actual mud
pies for him and he actually ate them! haha!
